Description

The shadows of Hazelhurst are no longer just secrets between lovers; they have become a battleground. After finally securing the heart of Elly and cementing her connection with the elusive Haz, the protagonist feels as though the pieces of her fractured life are finally slotting into place. The only lingering shadow remains Nic, the mercurial enigma who has always existed at the edge of her world. But peace in Hazelhurst is notoriously fragile. A specter from Nic’s buried past has surfaced, and this adversary is determined to drag her back into the darkness, regardless of the destruction left in their wake. Suddenly, the love our heroine fought so hard to build is under siege by a predator who sees her as nothing more than a casualty in a game of possession. Vying Girls is the pulse-pounding conclusion to this high-stakes sapphic why-choose duet. It is a story of obsession, loyalty, and the dangerous lengths women will go to protect the people who have rewritten their lives. As the threats escalate and the stakes turn lethal, the lines between enemies and soulmates blur, forcing everyone involved to decide exactly what they are willing to sacrifice for a future together.

could not put this book down

After reading Tricky Girls and realizing there was a second book I was so excited. I fell in love with all characters of this series, the character development is chefs kiss and the ending is absolutely perfect.

Good conclusion to the duology, but nothing can top the first book

3.5 ⭐️ *subtle spoilers [indication of how book ends]* I could not WAIT for this book!! The first book had me chomping at the bit. The first book was so good, I had high expectations for this. I love Haz, Elly, and Nic and was happy to see them come back to life. The story is complex and has substance, the writing tone was well done and the characters are likable. Though I liked how the book wrapped and was glad for the happy ending, it felt as though the plot was an after thought. Tricky Girls was incredibly well thought out and meticulously edited, however, it felt like this was rushed out. The apex of the story didn't happen until 85% of the way in, and while that isn't always bad, it felt like the author remembered toward the end that she needed to conclude main conflict of the story. I look forward to reading more of Holly's work!! *I received an ARC of this, thank you to Holly Thorne and team*

Great Duology

Holly Thorne's Hazelhurst duology has stayed on my mind since I finished the first book. This second book was SO good. The character's journey is so well written and complete. I felt as though I was truly on their journey with them! I truly loved reading both of these books!

Such a good read

10\10. Highly anticipated book and it did not disappoint. Sad the story is over but it was a great read, I could not put it down. There was angst and vulnerability and a story line that kept me reading.
