Description

Hazelhurst is not a place you leave easily, especially when the lines between the living and the spectral blur. In this hauntingly beautiful conclusion to the duology, the stakes of the heart have never been higher. Following the emotional intensity of the first installment, this story gathers its complex, unforgettable characters into a delicate dance of intimacy and discovery. At the center of this why-choose romance lies a profound exploration of connection that defies conventional boundaries. You will find yourself anchored to a group of women who are navigating the heavy weight of the past alongside the electrifying promise of a shared future. The atmosphere is thick with longing and the ethereal presence of ghosts who demand to be felt as much as the living lovers do. This is literary fiction at its most tender, balancing a ghost story with a deeply human examination of polyamorous love. It is a rare narrative that balances sharp, evocative prose with the kind of soul-deep longing that stays with you long after the final page. If you are looking for a story that burns through the heart and lingers in the mind, the residents of Hazelhurst are waiting to welcome you home.

After reading Tricky Girls and realizing there was a second book I was so excited. I fell in love with all characters of this series, the character development is chefs kiss and the ending is absolutely perfect.

Good conclusion to the duology, but nothing can top the first book

3.5 ⭐️ *subtle spoilers [indication of how book ends]* I could not WAIT for this book!! The first book had me chomping at the bit. The first book was so good, I had high expectations for this. I love Haz, Elly, and Nic and was happy to see them come back to life. The story is complex and has substance, the writing tone was well done and the characters are likable. Though I liked how the book wrapped and was glad for the happy ending, it felt as though the plot was an after thought. Tricky Girls was incredibly well thought out and meticulously edited, however, it felt like this was rushed out. The apex of the story didn't happen until 85% of the way in, and while that isn't always bad, it felt like the author remembered toward the end that she needed to conclude main conflict of the story. I look forward to reading more of Holly's work!! *I received an ARC of this, thank you to Holly Thorne and team*
