Nyssa Blacksea! What a personality 😈

Oh wow—Black Sea Odyssey absolutely wrecked me in the best way. This book is epic in scope, but what truly makes it unforgettable is Nyssa. She’s smart, fierce, emotionally layered, funny when she shouldn’t be, and deeply human in a way that’s rare for fantasy leads. I didn’t just root for her—I loved her. She may honestly be my favorite leading lady I’ve ever read. The story itself feels mythic and sweeping without losing its intimacy. The worldbuilding is rich, the stakes are real, and nothing feels rushed or shallow. And the relationship building? Slow, intentional, emotionally earned. The kind that makes you feel every glance, every choice, every moment of vulnerability. It’s sapphic romance done right—tender, powerful, and woven seamlessly into the larger adventure rather than sitting on top of it. Easily one of the best sapphic fantasy romance novels I’ve read in a long time. If you love epic journeys, unforgettable characters, and relationships that actually mean something, this one is special.

What a fantastic series!

It was amazing, wonderful, beautiful, emotional and absolutely fantastic! I had soooo much fun reading these books. The main characters and their adventures were so wonderfully created. Nyssa and Quinn’s journey, separately and together, evolved into such a beautiful story. My heart was equally aching for them and rejoicing with them. That goes to other positive characters in this book. The development of characters and events was just ideal. The book had a very good pace, a lot of action, drama and so mamy twists. I kind of felt sad that it finished already although I read there is coming more books from the same universe. How awesome is that?!

enjoyable conclusion to the series

The stakes were always going to be high in the conclusion to this trilogy. Marked Gods, they have access to a lot of power - ancient magic. But even so, they are still mortal, at the whim of their own bodies and void collars, and one mistake too many and things could come crashing down. The book open where the last one left off, with a bargaining chip for their freedom. Things, though, as expected, don't go well, and from there on it's quite a bit of a mess as they try and stop Ceril from reaching his goal. It's fast paced, chaotic, with plenty of action, surprises, and development of the various relationships. Multiple characters get screen time, as in the previous books, and it was nice to see where some of them ended up. It's an enjoyable ride, and a good conclusion to the series, with most things are resolved. Of course, it's not completely over, with a couple of teases at the end (and the authors note) hinting at things to come. It will be interesting to see where the characters go from there. All up, an enjoyable series that I am glad to have read, and I look forward to seeing what else she writes in the future.
