Description

Kingston has always preferred the predictable mechanical precision of locks to the messy unpredictability of people. As a professional locksmith, he’s spent his life keeping his distance, literally and figuratively, tucked away in his quiet world. But when an injury forces him to hire an assistant to keep his business afloat, his solitary routine is shattered by the arrival of Ethan. Ethan is a whirlwind of chaotic energy who has spent his post-collegiate life drifting between unfulfilling jobs. He’s looking for purpose, not a grumpy mentor, yet he finds himself unexpectedly drawn to the prickly man who runs the local locksmith shop. What begins as a testy professional arrangement quickly thaws into an undeniable attraction, but neither man is prepared for the deeper layer of reality lurking beneath their suburban lives. As their bond grows, a startling discovery threatens to upend everything they believe about their identities. Kingston is a stoic raccoon shifter, and Ethan is the vibrant squirrel shifter he never invited into his heart. Unlocked and Unlost is a charming, sparks-flying romance that explores fated mates and unexpected paths. It’s an irresistible journey of a grumpy soul finally finding the one person worth letting in.

Adorable cover is just the start of this cute story

This is a very cute shifter story and maybe the author's first shifter story. She did an excellent job. Kingston was set in his ways. Ethan was a lovable chatterbox. Looking forward to the next story in this shared world. And the cover is just adorable.

Didn’t know Gabbi Grey wrote Shifter stories

Was happy to discover a Shifter story written by Gabbi Grey as it’s one of my favorite genres. Throw in Grumpy/Sunshine and you know it’s going to be fun. Only surprise was that all other Shifter books I’ve read, if a Shifter is hurt, they heal once shifted, and Gabbi does not follow that so felt bad for Kingston.

Great story

This was such a cute and fun story. Who would have dreamed that a grumpy raccoon and a very energetic squirrel would be perfect for each other. I really enjoyed this story.

Grumpy vs sunshine, fated mates

Kingston is a very grumpy racoon shifter who's given up on having a mate. Ethan is a very chatty squirrel shifter who's hired to be Kingston's assistant after he's injured at a client's home. Initially he's very annoyed by Ethan but grudgingly accepts his help because he does need it. They slowly get to know one another better as they recognize who they are to each other.

Happily different

First of her books; so shifting surprises. Great characterizations, and word pictures of locations and actions clear, plus choreographed interactions move the story.
