but deeply moving and even heartfelt
The time has come for Alessio to finally reunite with his first, only, love, Father Rafael. He's been waiting literally years to be with his man, and most of those years he never thought he'd have him again. In the time since they've been apart, Alessio has become the the tech wizard of his found family, and has used that wizardry to watch over Rafael from the shadows, from a distance. But now? Now's the time he's coming for him in person, not from behind a monitor, and not separated by the confessional lattice.
When Rafael made the choice back then to walk away from Alessio and into his faith and his calling, it was what was right for him at the time. In the years since, he's shoved his love deep into the place he doesn't acknowledge, and has let his love for his God guide him. But now Alessio has come to him in person, away from the confessional where he's been sending his brothers, and he himself has come to silently sit. Seeing him, being around him, he's having a battle of his love for Alessio and his faith. Which will he choose?
I have been eagerly and impatiently waiting for Alessio and Rafael's story since Alessio was first introduced. I could feel Alessio's pain so deeply each time he talked about watching Rafael, dreaming of him, missing him, loving him. Although I knew they would eventually have their reunion, Ella and Brooke made them both work for it. Rafael, with a little guidance from his mentor, worked through what had driven him away from Alessio and to…

Alessio has been waiting a lifetime for his first and only love to be his. To claim him forever, and Raphael Vitale is that love. However, Father Vitale has promised himself to God and is the Park Avenue Kings priest who they confess all their sins and transgressions to every month. Every King but Alessio. He’s heartbroken, angry and can’t bring himself to show Father Vitale that he still wants him back. But how do you fight with God and a vow of service to the church? You get drunk one night and finally confess to your priest and forever love just what’s been in your heart since they parted as teens.
After that confession, Alessio finds himself constantly flirting with Father Vitale and making the handsome priest question his vow until he no longer resists. The coming together of two hearts and souls that never stopped loving each other made my eyes water a little…ok, maybe a lot.
What a wonderful story full of hope for a happy ending for Raphael and Alessio. It was great having his King brothers back too. I’m sure next year I’ll reread the series and love every page again. Thank you ladies for taking us into the world of the handsome Park Avenue Kings. Sooooo worth it. Now maybe I’ll stop drooling over the cover and drenching my Kindle. Probably not. 🩷
This was a amazing ending
This finale in the Park Ave. Kings was a tremendous ending. I didn’t see how these two were going to work out their differences but Raphael realized that he could have love and religion which set them on a path to forever love. Lesson waited patiently for the love of his life and that was just so endearing and inspiring to see. In a world where we all get in a loop of instant gratification it’s nice to see a love story that is about patience and learning to put another first. What a tremendous ending to the series and a must read.
With Rafael as a Catholic priest and Alessio yearning for him from afar, there was a LOT of pining before these two reach their HEA. But the HEA redeems all the suffering. I liked the portrayal of the Catholic Church and the fact that both main characters believe in God. It may not be entirely realistic, but hopefully it’s a version of what could happen in the future.
