Description

When a mysterious woman is discovered washed ashore, her presence sends shockwaves through the quiet, isolated life of a recluse living by the sea. Thrown together by circumstance, the two women are drawn into an intense, atmospheric dance of discovery and desire. As the tide pulls them closer, the boundaries between past trauma and budding affection begin to blur, forcing them to confront the secrets they have both carefully guarded from the world. Roslyn Sinclair masterfully weaves a tale that is as much about the reclamation of the self as it is about the transformative power of intimacy. This is a story of slow-burn tension and deep emotional resonance, where every stolen glance and whispered confession carries the weight of a long-awaited connection. The prose is hauntingly beautiful, painting the coastal setting in visceral detail while holding a mirror to the complex architecture of human longing. At its heart, this is an exploration of vulnerability and the relentless pull of love. Whether you are seeking a story defined by its exquisite, passionate character dynamics or a narrative that lingers in the soul long after the final page, this novel delivers a brilliant, unforgettable portrait of two hearts finding their rhythm against the crashing waves.

Amazing Story & Poetic Writing

This launched straight into my top, favorite Fantasy Novels! This is a fantastic story, but what makes it great is that it’s written as if told by a great storyteller! It was easy to connect with the rich world building because it was anchored by a deep sense of culture for both main characters. Great care and intention were given to each character arc, making them believable and relatable. And the prose and writing are chef’s kiss. For readers who prefer contemporary novels over fantasy, this story is based in a fantasy world that exists within and interacts with our contemporary world. So I think it’s in reaching distance for contemporary readers, too. This novel goes on my Favorites Shelf, and I know I’ll visit it again and again!

Stunningly Written Five Stars

I could not put this book down. Not only was the premise absolutely intriguing, but the characters were wonderfully written, with in-depth emotions and pasts that created dynamic interactions. The plot kept me on my toes and the slow-burn romance left me breathless until the very end.

Hmmmm

I am a huge fan of Roslyn Sinclair but I have an extreme dislike of fantasy fiction. If this had been a book about a nun questioning her faith and sexuality I would have been a happy camper. The whole ocean horse beast storyline was a total downer for me and essentially ruined the story. So 5 stars for writing and 3 stars for storyline.

Loved this book!

I do like fantasy but admittedly I was a little iffy about the horse/human/shape shifter thing but I was pleasantly surprised. I really like this authors writing style and she easily had me emotionally attached to the characters. If you’re into WLW slowburn romance, definitely give this one a try.

A captivating and HOT story!

OMG! This is an outstanding story! We meet Sister Madeline on a trip to Scotland with her class of teenage girls. When she hears someone calling from the North Sea one night. Calling her is Haera an Each-usig, a mythical creaturé, that's not so mythical. The two are inescapably attached to each other's lives. This is a fantastic fantasy, age gap, slow burn, HOT, love story! Just know it is a captivating story! I can't say enough as to how wonderful this is! It is a FAVORITE! Deserves more than 5 stars!
