Description

In a chilling landscape where magic demands a heavy price, Elara finds herself bound to the whims of a powerful witch. Caught in a precarious power dynamic, she is less of a companion and more of a possession, navigating a life governed by spells, secrets, and a volatile, intoxicating connection with her enslaver. As the lines between captor and subject blur, Elara must decide if the intensity simmering between them is a dangerous trap or the only tether keeping her soul intact. Tiana Warner weaves an atmospheric tale that thrives on delicious tension and the complexities of desire. This is a dark, character-driven romance where the atmosphere is as thick as the moral ambiguity surrounding the protagonists. Rather than a simple story of rescue, it delves deep into the psychological intricacies of love found in the most restrictive of circumstances. With its sharp prose and high-stakes emotional stakes, The Witch’s Pet is a compelling exploration of devotion, control, and the shadows that lie within the heart. It is the perfect read for those who crave a sapphic story that refuses to play it safe, offering a hauntingly seductive experience that lingers long after the final page.

Great Story.

I could not put this book done. I found this book entertaining, humorous as well as sad sometimes. I especially liked all the characters, but more so Hannah Schmidt and the sanguine witch Julia Moreau who where bound together by a binding spell. I found it ironic that Julia is a powerful witch but because of a sleeping curse that Hannah broke. Julia had slept for 118 years so she lost in this new world but while Hannah was heartbroken when she had just got dump by Riley Cooper via text after being together for two years with no explanation. They were stuck being close to each other while at the same time Julia had to feed off of Hannah's essence. Or else Julia would feed feed off someone else an end up killing them while trying to find the witch that cursed Julia and break the spell before the moon set. During that time Hannah was falling for Julia and Julia was also having feelings for Hanna but was afraid she would kill her. I was little disappointed how the story ended but since there is a second book which I hope explains what happens after the bound is broken. I happily recommend this book to everyone that loves a good age gap romance between a human and a witch.

Witchy web

3.5 stars 3🌶 I had read another book by this author before, so I was excited to get the opportunity to read this one. The story takes place over a day or so time period, so things move fast. Hannah, you can totally sympathize with. She just got dumped by her girlfriend Riley. She burns a book and ends up shackled so to speak to a vengeful witch. Julia, is a dark sanguine witch playing up the evil aspect. I'm a huge fan of dark romantasy, to me this falls a bit short. Julia is a bit 1 dimensional, I think if her character was given a bit more to work with, then I would have enjoyed her more. My disconnection to that character seemed to take away from my enjoyment. To me this was a good story, but not great. tropes: touch her and ☠️, forced proximity, instant infatuation, secret witchcraft society

such a good book !!!!!

I loved every minute of this book ! From the beginning with Hannah’s heart break to meeting a witch that’s been trapped for 118 years! Their story is fast paced but it will not disappoint. This author did an amazing job and I highly recommend reading this book!!! I can’t wait to read more of this authors work.

Solid read

Good story on facing one's fears and past failures with just enough sex to make it fun reading. The sex is written caring and not gratuitous but it is a tenant of the book. I would read the next v steps for the two of them. So much fun 118 year gap to overcome.

I have mixed feelings

What can I say? I discovered Tiana through her Eriana Kwai trilogy which made me devour it like I'd been starving for ages. It was everything I could ever want. Colorful writing, yearning, female warriors, mermaids.. utter perfection. That being said I've struggled getting into her other books. Perhaps it's the tonal shift, or the content, but they held little interest. I intend to try again, but I digress. When I saw this book being advertised as one of the spiciest things she's written and it was about witches and dark sapphic desire I was excited. Reading it...I both enjoyed and loathed it. The concept feels very much like a Wanda/Agatha Harkness fanfic given life. This is not a complaint. I love books that feel like fanfics. However, as short as it was, it often seemed as if it could be shorter for the repetition and back and forth inner monologues that seemed unnecessary. There was none of the colorful writing, and all in all it felt rushed. It was an easy read, but there was so much potential for more depth and darkness, and I'm unfortunately left unsatisfied. But I finished it, and I'm obsessed with Julia Moreau, so.... As the title says I have mixed feelings. But I do encourage you to give it a read.
