All is not happiness in this generational read, but it is excellent. A group of women artists in pre-WW2 England, struggling with the mores and challenges of those years. Then a group of 2020s women struggling to unearth the secrets of the earlier group and conquer their own demons. The tale twists back and forth between the two groups as challenges are met and acknowledged. Loss is pervasive on both sides, but life carries on for both groups and others around them. Complex and twisty - very enjoyable.

'The Secrets of Harbour House' is the story of an artist, a poet, and the young woman who feels compelled to bring their passionate and tragic affair to light almost 90 years later. I read this book on Kindle and by the 43% mark had pretty much figured out where it would go. Also, some of the male characters felt rather too one-sided. I kept reading (and am glad I did) because the story was engaging and I liked how the theme -- the fight to give voices to creative women who had been silenced -- was developed. I was curious to know how the details of the mystery surrounding their fate would be resolved and, frankly, sometimes it's simply satisfying to read a book where karma does indeed come after the bad guys.

This is a story of finding love
I wasnt sure about this book when I started it but after getting into it couldn't put it down. The story of Sheba and Katherine draws you in and how Kerensa unwraps the mystery of these women. In the process, Kershaw finds herself., and so much more. So worth the read
I really enjoyed this book, the plot, the settings, the characters. I did get frustrated with the pace of the book, which is why it only got four stars. It just took too long, but it wrapped up well.
good read .. then better read
I enjoyed the book from the get/go but enjoyed it more, the further I read. Take a chance on it… I think you’ll enjoy it too/especially if you like dual time lines light on history.
