Description

The fire ignited by a single, defiant slap has transformed Oakland Pratt into an inadvertent icon of the resistance. As civil liberties crumble and hate surges across the state, the marginalized community she leads finds itself pushed to the brink. When a brutal government crackdown forces a violent confrontation reminiscent of Stonewall, the survivors retreat into the dark, labyrinthine depths of the abandoned Minneapolis skyway system. Deep within these hollowed-out corridors, the Scarlet Resistance is born. What begins as a desperate mission for survival quickly evolves into a high-stakes digital insurgency, weaponizing hidden networks to strike back against a regime that thought it had crushed them. As Governor Tate spirals in a frantic attempt to maintain his crumbling authority, his right hand, Selene Carlisle, finally abandons the pretense of loyalty, further destabilizing the government from within. Amidst the chaos, the battle is personal for Silver. While her comrades wage war on the streets and online, she sits by a hospital bedside, struggling to reignite a connection with Spencer, who has awakened from her injuries with no memory of their burgeoning love. Against a backdrop of revolution, Silver must decide if romance can survive the heat of a burning city.

Fantastic part 2 of a compelling series.

This book provided a great bridge between the start of the trilogy and its completion. It was engaging to hear more about characters backstory and one very astute and forward thinking grandmother. I had no difficulty becoming completely emmersed while reading this book. My only warning is that once a reader reaches this second novel, it will be very hard to put down and not push through to get to the 3rd text. Addictive and compelling, without a doubt.

Just..wow

I just finished book 2 and cannot wait to start the 3rd. This series definitely hits close to home with the state of the country right now. It's inspiring. I love it, the scarlet resistance is badass.

It just can’t get any better!

This series has it ALL! Romance, action, emotions, suspense, spice, a scarily true world, characters that you love or hate, and a story that just keeps building and building. I was totally hooked after the first one, I can’t wait for the final book, which is only a month away. I love that the author releases them so close together, as what’s happened so far is still fresh in my mind when the next one comes out. I can’t recommend this series highly enough, and I’d give it ten stars if I could.

Soooo queer! 🌈

Great read as a follow up to the finest line. This book dives a lot deeper into the rest of the characters but it’s awesome. I think the last book is going to be intense but can’t say why without spoilers but omg SELENEEEE. Also THAT scene with Oakland and Christine was 🔥🌶️💥
