Description

Nargol Cydassi is the elite shadow of her orc chieftain, a woman trained to be a silent blade and a ruthless enforcer. When a brewing uprising threatens the stability of her clan, Nargol is sent deep into the underworld to expose the traitor behind the unrest. She is prepared for espionage, bloodshed, and betrayal—but she is entirely unprepared for Orlena Blackwell. Orlena is a human outcast living on the fringes of orc society, constantly underestimated and forced to play small to survive. Yet, when their paths cross, the ancient, inescapable spark of a fated mate bond ignites between them. Among orcs, this connection is sacred, but in a world that views humans as expendable, their union is a dangerous taboo that could ignite a war from within. As Nargol’s investigation reveals a conspiracy far more volatile than she imagined, the stakes escalate. With enemies closing in and the political fabric of her home fraying, Nargol must choose: uphold the iron-clad loyalty she has always known, or shatter her world to protect the woman who owns her heart. This is a story of visceral devotion, where honor is tested by fire and a savage vow is carved in the name of love.

Ohhh so good

The 2 books in this series by Ariel Marie are so good. I hope there will be a 3rd since there is a close friend of the Orc princess/General that needs a mate, a favor owed to the witch and a war to fight. Note at one point there was a whole POV that the wrong KNOWN name (even though it actually was the correct name) was used. That was the biggest mistake made but did not lower my view of this book.

Wonderful Continuation from Iron Oath

I loved this book! I stayed up all night to read it and it was worth it. I re-read the Iron Oath before I read this one and you can honestly see the growth that Ariel Marie continues to go through in her writing. The plot was amazing and gripping, to the point that I was actually crying at one part and yelling at the characters to pull it together in another. This was a great continuation to the Lunaterra Series, as well as a great addition to the Cydassi sisters arc that Ariel Marie has created. I hope she writes another book that follows this amazing vein of stories. I look forward to what is next from her with batted breath!

Surprises abound!

Yes! The wait was worth it! Nargol is sent on a task that uncovers a devious plot, but of course there are surprises that abound. Nargol’s introduction to Orleana was awesome and surprising. It had me giggling. I even had fun trying to pronounce some of the Orcish words throughout the story. Nargol proves she is a strong warrior and trustworthy. One of my favorite parts is when Nargol goes to a temple as part of her undercover persona.
