Other than the novellas, this is my third story I’ve read by Mulford. I adore the world of Okrith and keep falling more and more in love with every character and story. I usually don’t love series that transition main characters as it goes, but this series is truly done perfectly. The slow burn and lead up to the spice and plot crescendo is divine. I also appreciate how the series gets spicier as it goes and finds that perfect balance of adult fantasy without being all about the spice. It truly is the perfect formula for someone who prefers the majority plot with some fun extras.
This couple is also my favorite of the series. However, I think I say that every time. It’s hard to beat Remy, but Bri managed to show so much personality as the series progressed and it was so fun being in her shoes. She is flawed, real, and such a bad ass. I adore her so much and love how acceptable her sexuality is and that in this series it is all about love, empowerment, and there’s nothing that a couple can’t overcome through honesty and working together.
The ending also caught me for a loop. Maybe I’m easy to dupe, but I did not see that coming and it was the perfect blend of surprise, intensity, while still coming neatly together. I cannot wait for The Evergreen Heir and I’m so glad I savored every moment of The Rogue Crown.
Third installment in the captivating Crowns of Okrith series
The Rogue Crown, the third installment in the captivating Crowns of Okrith series, delves into the remarkable journey of Bri, my favorite Twin Eagle. Banished from the Western court due to a prophecy foretelling that she would seize the throne, Bri now returns to this very place to aid in the protection of Princess Lina. Determined to stand by Lina's side until the imminent threat is gone.
Having been captivated by Bri's character in the High Mountain Court and further enthralled in her adventures in the Witches Blade, I was beyond excited to dive into her own enchanting love story.
One noteworthy aspect of this series is its inclusivity and representation of the LGBTQ+ community. In a genre where Sapphic narratives are still somewhat scarce, the Crowns of Okrith stands out as a beacon of diversity and acceptance. The Rogue Crown continues this tradition, celebrating love and relationships regardless of gender or sexual orientation.
While The Rogue Crown maintains a somewhat slower pace compared to the first two books, the focus is instead the relationship between Bri and Lina. Author Mulford fearlessly embraces the Sapphic romance, affording it the same level of care, consideration, and detail as the heterosexual relationships depicted in earlier books
not bad, but nothing to write home about
Fantasy is my go-to genre and when I heard sapphic fantasy, I was very in, but this was just interesting enough to keep me engaged for the plot while being just boring enough that I dragged my feet to get through it.

Amazing 3rd book to the series!
An amazing 3rd book to this series. We finally get more of the Eagle Twins stories following Bri. This is a sapphic fantasy romance with enemies to lovers, found family and strong MCs.
I always love AK Mulford books and getting to see more of the main characters in her stories. Bri and Lina are both strong and stubborn. They both had parents who really didn't understand them as a person. Both are uniquely different with distinct personalities.
The steamy scenes were chef's kiss. The battle scenes kept me on the edge of my seat. There were many plot twists that made the story exciting and left us needing to know what happens next in the royals fight to keep the kingdom safe.

This is a captivatingly beautiful tale of two women with so many twists & turns!
The Rogue Crown is fantastical! A combination of fantastic & magical!
This is the tale of Bri!
We’ve known Bri since The High Mountain Court as the strong, tough fighter/protector. In the Rogue Crown, not only do we learn a lot more about Bri, but we get to see a whole new side to her. We see Bri’s vulnerable side and it’s beautiful!
It took me a bit to get into this book but once I hit a certain point, I just got captivated and was hooked ‘til the end. I couldn’t put it down anymore!
Bri travels to the Western Court, tasked with protecting Princess Lina and solving the mystery of who killed the Western Queen. Along the way Bri finds it harder & harder to choose between fate & love.
This is a captivatingly beautiful tale of two women with so many twists & turns! I highly recommend it!
