Description

For as long as she can remember, the protagonist of The Reluctant Romantic has been a devotee of love stories. Yet, she spent a lifetime searching bookshelves for a narrative that reflected her own heart, only to find the representation she craved was missing. Recognizing that the stories we need most are sometimes the ones we must write ourselves, she decided to bridge the gap. This novel is a love letter to the possibility of queer joy. It strips away the cynical armor we often build around our hearts, delivering a classic, sweep-you-off-your-feet romance where two women discover that the perfect partner was closer than they ever imagined. It is a story rooted in the belief that everyone deserves a tether to someone who understands their soul, celebrating the messy, beautiful, and unfiltered process of falling in love. With warmth and sincerity, the author delivers a narrative that feels like a cozy sanctuary. If you are looking for a story that champions hope, acknowledges the courage it takes to be vulnerable, and promises that authentic happy endings are not just for fairy tales, you have found your next favorite read. Dive into a world where love is always the final word.

A beautiful love story!

Emery is a well known, successful romance novelist. She doesn't believe in romance for herself though. On her way to a book signing she goes into the wrong book store. There, she knocks over a display of books! While helping to pick up the books, she finds out that the propieter, Eveline doesn't like romance novels. And this is how this opposites, forgiveness, love story starts! A FAVORITE! 5 stars!! I LOVE THIS BOOK!

Still Crying

Just finished the last part of the story and have been crying with happiness for quite awhile. Love the characters, setting, dialogue and brilliant story within the story. I think you will too! GB

A rare disappointment from Sienna Waters

Sienna Waters is one of the Lesbian Romance authors I've long admired for her reliably entertaining and unique novels, but that reliability dimmed about halfway through The Reluctant Romantic, went into brown out at two-thirds, and blacked out entirely at three quarters. The problem was our heroine went from awkwardly shouldering an unintended misunderstanding to deliberately misleading her love interest for purely self serving reasons. One of those reasons was profit, another was cowardice: her fear that the truth would damage her developing relationship. Her "fix" was to make a choice where the only possible outcome was exploding the relationship. I know we have to have the second act crisis, but surely there less despicable devices available. I assume the novel has an HEA, but I can't attest to it, since I had all I could take at 80% when it looked like it was the wrap up was going to get even more idiotic.

So good!!

Thank you to Booksprout and Sienna Waters for this ARC opportunity. I am happily leaving my honest review. I was so excited to read another book by Sienna Waters and The Reluctant Romantic did not disappoint! I really enjoyed this delightful sapphic romance and was happily entertained from beginning to end. The Reluctant Romantic is an emotionally intelligent sapphic romance that I found to be quite charming and satisfying opposites attract love story. This book was so fun to read and Waters uses her signature humour to create a warm, funny and emotional story that I didn’t want to put down. Emery Parker is a romance writer that uses the pen name Emerald Pearl. She has had considerable success but finds herself suffering from a case of writer's block as of late. Despite her successful writing of swoon worthy love and perfect happy endings she is notoriously shy and rather clumsy around real life women. Emery’s clumsiness is on full display as she bulldozes a carefully constructed book exhibit at Eveline quaint french bookshop. In a fun twist, Emery ends up working at a Bookstore believing that perhaps a little immersion therapy will help unblock her writing and allow the creative juices to flow once again. Eveline is composed and definitely emotionally guarded. She runs her own successful business and is skeptical about romance novels and just loves itself. This book was such a fun and refreshing sapphic love story. Though the premise is simple, a romance writer hiding…
