This was a very good book. Can't wait for part 3.
Oh wow! I knew I would love the second book in this trilogy, but damn, this was better than the first. That is such a hard thing for an author to do. To follow up the first book with an even better one?? GENIUS. STUNNING. I reached out to Bex and asked about themes and tropes of the book. She talked about the complexities of humans, “that people aren’t what you initially assume and that everyone is more than one thing.” She did an amazing job at capturing this with many of the characters in the book. Whether that be Meredith(which is the obvious choice) or a character that felt insignificant(who of course later turned out not to be).
She also talked about being in a relationship with someone that is fundamentally different from you. Nicky struggles with this throughout the book. I was glad to see that it wasn’t brushed under the rug by the author or the characters. There were many hard and unpleasant conversations that Meredith and Nicky had. They were real and raw. I found myself agreeing with both MCs on their points. Thus, proving that we as humans are more than just one thing. While this seems obvious, I think I and many others are guilty of not always acknowledging that. Nicky’s character development was shown through these conversations as well. She really found her voice.
The action in The Last Place On Earth is crazy. There is definitely more in this book than in the first. It was wonderfully written. A lot of times in scenes where a lot is going on I feel like I…

Post Apocalyptic Lesbians
Excellent follow up to the first book. Not every author is able to write side characters with just enough info/dialogue that they feel realized. Bex Benjamin does this well. Meredith is still a mystery, but I like that the reader learns about her as Nicky does. A refreshing take on envisioning a post-apocalyptic world. I look forward to the third book.
This apocalyptic story has it all
I’m really enjoying this post-apocalyptic series. It’s quite suspenseful, with lots of action, some good spice, a romance that made me want to slap Nicki, and a story that kept me reading. It introduces an unexpected and very interesting take on vampires, and deals with a few morally gray issues, which cause problems for Meredith and Nicki on occasion. The ending is a cliffhanger of sorts, so I can’t wait for the next one. Highly recommend if you like dystopian zombie stories with kickass women characters.
The ride continues in book 2!!!
Wow. I am so thankful to have found this author and these books!! Absolutely hooked.
I am enamored with both Nicky and Meredith. Love me a morally gray sapphic age gap with the most relatable MC that makes it impossible to put the story down.
So well written and paced with delicious sprinkles of steam and romance that flowed perfectly.
Highly, highly recommend these books (this is book two of a trilogy) !!!
