Description
Varis has spent two years in self-imposed exile, hunkered down on a decaying ship moored in the lawless waters beyond Monsmount. He clings to a hoard of plundered treasure, viewing it as his only ticket to autonomy. To return home is a death sentence, binding him to a cold, ancestral altar as a sacrifice to a heartless god. But the solitude of his maritime refuge is shattered when a dragon—a legendary creature of power and myth—starts circling his vessel, upending everything he thought he knew about survival.
Meanwhile, Ghreiden, the youngest prince of a broken kingdom, is tasked with the impossible: restoring a squalid, dying port to its former glory. Exhausted by the corruption of the clergy and the wreckage of a failing economy, he is on the precipice of surrender. Yet, destiny has other plans. Drawn to a desolate stretch of coastline littered with shipwrecks, he discovers that his political exile is, in truth, an appointment with fate. As the lives of these two men collide amidst the rising tides and shifting allegiances, they discover that their connection is ancient, dangerous, and the only force capable of saving them from the ruinous greed consuming their world.
