Description

Delilah has spent years playing the role of the perfect wife, but when she discovers her husband is harboring a scandalous secret, her life in the high-society circles of Regency London begins to fracture. The betrayal is sharp, but it leads her straight into the arms of the one person who has always been her sanctuary: Ivy. Their connection has been a decades-long slow burn, hidden in plain sight beneath the guise of a steadfast, lifelong friendship. As Delilah navigates the wreckage of her marriage and the societal pressure to maintain appearances, her feelings for Ivy shift from comfortable companionship into a fierce, undeniable longing. What starts as a desperate search for solace quickly transforms into a passionate romance that threatens to upend everything they have ever known. This story beautifully blends the elegance of a period setting with the electric, modern energy of a rockstar-caliber emotional journey. It is a sweet, tender exploration of what happens when the person you have loved your entire life finally becomes the person you choose to be with forever. If you crave a heartfelt friends-to-lovers tale that celebrates the courage it takes to claim your own happiness, this is the perfect escape.

AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

It's always fun when one of your favorite authors goes and fully outdoes themselves, and that is EXACTLY what happened with this one! Every single piece of this book was sheer perfection, and I couldn't love it more! I loved getting to watch Delilah as she fought for what she deserved and what she wanted in her life and for her kids! Her journey of finding herself, and learning the balance of independence and accepting support from those who love her, was absolutely beautiful to watch! And Ivy was such an incredible rock of support for Delilah and Sadie, and I loved how she was able and willing to take charge to help when she was needed! I loved her journey of realizing what exactly she wanted for her own life, and working hard to find that path forward! Adding in the absolute joy of getting so much time with the rest of the Fox Hole characters, and the giddy hunt for Swiftie and Chicks references, and this was just a wholly incredible book!! Overall, this may be my favorite from Emily Shacklette yet, and I swear I fall deeper in love with her work every time!! This was one of my easiest 5 stars of the year!! 5 stars; 3.5 chili peppers Tropes: - Best Friends to Lovers - Accidental Pregnancy - Not Her Baby - Toxic Ex Confrontation - Found Family - Small Town

Bye Bye Earl!!

This was such a fun, sweet short read! Ivy and Delilah are too cute! Delilah finds out her husband is cheating and she’s so angry and hurt and Delilah tells her best friend Ivy and they plan to “kill” her husband, but they’re really not going to kill him they plan to ruin his life. I must say he was the worst! I love Delilah and Ivy’s friendship and I felt sad for Ivy because she’s been in love with Delilah for a very long time but I’m glad they got their happy ending. This book was so good and had me cracking up. I love being a good friends to lovers romance, and this book did not disappoint.
