Description

Lieutenant Colonel Julia Davies has spent her career operating in the shadows of the British Army, where silence is survival and trust is a luxury she can no longer afford. When she is abruptly reassigned to the security detail of Megan Hunter, the sharp-witted and idealistic Chancellor of the Exchequer, Julia expects a dull oversight role. Instead, she finds herself entangled in a high-stakes game of political survival where every move could be their last. Megan is as brilliant as she is inflammatory, a visionary leader determined to overhaul the status quo, making her a primary target for those who thrive on systemic corruption. As their worlds collide, the rigid, battle-hardened soldier and the charismatic politician engage in a volatile dance of opposing ideologies. What begins as a test of wills quickly spirals into an electric, forbidden attraction that threatens to compromise their professional barriers. As the threats against Megan turn lethal and the ghosts of Julia’s classified past surface to haunt her, the two women are forced into an impossible intimacy. In the corridors of power, secrets are the ultimate currency, and love may be the deadliest liability of all. They must decide if they are willing to burn down the systems they serve for a chance at a future worth fighting for.

It’s a MUST READ!

Addictive, intense, and full of unexpected twists I absolutely loved this book. It hooked me from the very first pages and I simply couldn’t put it down. The story keeps a steady pace, with unexpected twists that constantly keep you turning the pages. This is not your typical bodyguard romance. Both protagonists are strong, determined women who initially clash—one doesn’t want her on the team, and the other doesn’t even want to be there. But as circumstances force them closer, the tension builds naturally, and their connection becomes intense and believable. What really stands out is that the novel goes beyond romance. It weaves in a solid, engaging plot that touches on current issues, adding depth to the story while maintaining a gripping sense of momentum. A highly recommended read emotional, compelling, and hard to put down.
