The Beast Who Bought Me: A Dark MM Romance (Clemenza Family, Book 1)

If you are not a fan of dark romances then don’t pick up this book. If you are not a fan of MM romances don’t pick up this book. If you do not love Leighton Greene again I say do not pick up this book. As introductions to a new series goes this is excellent. It is a twisted version of Romeo and Juliet with lots of twists and turns you come to expect from Leighton. Damiano Orsini has spent his entire life planning revenge against Caligula Clemenza for the death of his father 21 years prior. The thing is Cal was only a baby at the time of Dami’s father’s death. But as with any traumatic event in ones childhood rationalizing what you saw, what actually happened and who to blame without therapy rarely if ever happens. In the world Dami grew up in that was not going to happen and his need for revenge becomes an obsession and that obsession leads Cal right into the fire. Cal is the last living Clemenza (you will need to have read the Morelli Family series to understand the full scope of the demise of the Clemenza family) and he is on the run. Although Luca D’Amato has decreed no one can go after the Clemenza’s someone has ignored the Don. Cal has no one he can trust, friend or “family” and he would rather die than go to the Morelli’s for protection. He finds himself on the auction block staring down Damiano Orsini whom he doesn’t know hates him for the sins of his father. Cal believes he will be safe once bought by Dami since he is now owned by an enforcer of one of the four…

Cal & Damiano were an odd mix. I still don't know how I feel about their relationship but I need to know what happens next. Damiano was something else.. I do think that by the end of this book he did have real feelings for Cal... Caligula is a hideous name but it was fun that he hated it too 😅 I liked them both, not sure how they will work it out but I'm looking forward to it.

This has it all. Caligula, the last of his murdered mafia family, is on the run from being eliminated. He’s being hunted by two men, one wielding a knife, and one muscled beast offering him protection. He trusts neither and slips away from them, but only for a slight reprieve. On his own with no family, no money and nowhere safe to stay, he turns to someone from his past for help. His friend tells him he has a sure-fired way to make enough money to survive and escape NYC, but it means he has to auction himself off to a rich powerful man for it. Can he do that? It’s the only door open to him when there’s no other option. Problem? Of course there is. He has mafia enemies crawling out of every dark corner wanting him dead. But the BEAST wants his vengeance and exerts his wealth and influence to achieve it. Cal is in for a rude awaking and this book will take you from his crazy decision to auction himself off to the realization of his family’s past smacking him head on. No one trusts anyone, every lie might be the truth and your friends are not necessarily your friends. Follow Cal and his beast through it all. Exciting story, well developed characters and a roller coaster of events to keep you turning every page as fast as you can to see what happens. There is a cliffhanger, of course, which will lead into Book 2 and I can’t wait! Thank you Leigh for a great story…..to be continued. ❤️

This part one of more and the more is not out yet. That said, desperate times call for desperate measures. Our mafia prince is friendless, no family (or is there?) No one but himself to try and survive those that want him dead and gone. He knows he is being hunted and decides to hide by selling himself to the highest bidder in a rich old man's club. He gets primped and caged!!! put on display and bought by someone with ulterior motives, for this rich daddy knows his true identity and has planned for this moment for years. I enjoyed the read and now I need book 2 cause this one ends with the reader wanting to know what comes next.

Cal is a great character, he's clever,funny and resourceful. Dami is strong, possessive, caring and loyal. Dami, tries is best to break Cal. Cal is a Brat, in the best possible way ever. His antics made me giggle. My favorite line pg338 said by Cal "He bought me, chained me,caged me. But never really owned me. Not until Now" It ends with cliffhanger!!!
