Exquisite In All The Things
So I say without hesitation, Clare Ashton is number one on my top five author’s list in this genre. It is a shared spot with one other, and it was like Christmas come early that they both had books out this year. The sheer force of Ms. Ashton’s writing is a revelation. I was a fan of the first book in the Oxford romance, although transparency demands that I gave that a four star for a very particular reason. If I were pressed to say which of her books were my favorite I would be hard pressed to choose; though The Goodman’s rings as a bell due to its grandeur. Few write so lyrically. Ms. Ashton never loses the thread and like silk smoothly weaves a story from beginning to end. Oh how I reveled in this second book. All of my favorite tropes combined in one exquisite piece of literature. The ice queen, celebrity, unrequited love; neatly, expertly woven together. It’s a feat and a delight to read this caliber of writing. I say this as a thank you, nothing more. Ms. Ashton is one of few who can hold the readers attention in romance based on plot alone. As a result, she could write with zero spice and I would read her work. This said from someone who prefers mid to high spice in romance. She tends to write with low to medium spice in my observation, but let me tell you it is not for lack of skill. I get that it is completely author’s preference and I respect it. I called it out in Meeting Millie only, and I do mean only because she is so adept at it, it felt like a cheat to get it…

wonderful ice queen story
After reading the first book Meeting Millie it was a natural transition to read this book. But it was even more warm hearted and wonderful. A true romance with laughter and characters you love. Also meeting your celebrity crush is a wonderful topic. This book also provides depth and insight into the characters from the first book, which is a treat. This is one of those books I will read again.. a comfort book!

Exactly the kind of feel good romance you need on a spring day. I wish we could have gone deeper into the angst but it was still a wonderful read.
Oh I went through this book so fast! Which means of course I love it as much. Tempting Olivia by Zoey Ellis is an intoxicating blend of romance, emotional intensity, and undeniable chemistry. The story follows, a woman caught between her head and her heart, and a magnetic love interest whose charm is as irresistible as her flaws.
The author weaves a tale of passion and vulnerability, exploring themes of trust, self-discovery, and the power of connection. The characters are richly developed, as a relatable and compelling the main character. The dialogue feels authentic, and the sizzling tension between the leads keeps readers hooked even adding some amusing parts.
Though the story shines with its emotional depth, some parts might feel predictable to seasoned romance readers. However, the dynamic character arcs and vivid writing more than make up for it.
Tempting Olivia is a must-read for any one of contemporary romance who enjoy emotionally charged narratives with a touch of sensuality. It’s a tale that leaves you definitely rooting for love, no matter the obstacles. I highly recommend it!
To be honest I really wasn't sure in the beginning of this one. I struggled with the protagonist initially, and had to keep putting the book down for a day.
Once I got more into it, the story took off and I became completely enamored. Picked it up every chance I got. Love the story and the supporting characters, but I am glad I started with this one and not the first in the series....if I had I'm not sure I would have continued due to my impressions of Olivia. Love the supporting characters, especially her mom and hoping there is a third in this series!
Additionally, absolutely love that this author features a small spot discussing neurodivergence and how it effects relationships....and paints it in an ordinary, everyday life. As someone diagnosed in the class as well as happily married to another who experiences struggles....it was really nice to see it on the page portrayed in such an accepting, beautiful light and as a part of everyday life.
So thanks for that. ❤️
Definitely worth the read, and the re-read.
