As a young man, Henry survived the trauma of a fire that claimed 4 lives. Years later, Archie who has worshipped him from afar, meets the now professor for an interview as his T.A. and it's flame on. From minute one, both are intense, focused, hyperaware of each other. And when they come together in need? An explosion of want and taking. Both have under the surface damage, the feeling of loss that only the other can fill. Shocking but satisfying and full of steamy possession.

NGL April Jade is one of my favorite authors and I'd gladly read the phone book if she wrote it. So when I was invited to read an arc of
Sweet Violence I was thrilled.
This book is a professor/grad student, age gap (10 years), Daddy/Boy lite (they use the terms and there's a special care by Daddy but no age play or BDSM), hurt/comfort which are some of the core ingredients of what Ms. Jade writes and I find so enjoyable.
Henry, 34, professor, writer & lone survivor of a devastating fire years ago is forced by the college to get a TA. Archie, 24, grad student with his own tragic backstory, gets the TA job. It's an instant attraction for both MMCs and they don't let anything stand in the way of their need to be together. Which, tbh, is nice. Sometimes a low angst, high heat romance is what you need and this hit the spot. This book is a stand alone but part of the multi-author series In The Spotlight about morally grey MMCs in the public eye.
An easy 5-stars from me.
When Archie gets to be closer to a professor who seems to be perfect on all aspects, like spots like immediately and the draw towards professor Henry becomes undeniable.
Both having gone through trauma in their lives, the bond between them grows quickly and obsessively with Henry becoming Archie’s source of comfort.
An age gap, professor/ teaching assistant story with some mystery, some angst, emotional codependency, hurt/comfort, Daddy/boy themes, a fantastic best friend, spice and a HEA.
An absolutely wonderful read once again from this author.
I voluntarily received an arc of this book.

This was so unexpected and I'm obsessed with Henry and Archie. I honestly didn't see any of that coming. I love how Henry and Archie just so easily come together.
