I can already tell this is going to be a comfort read for me in the future.
Both MC’s are fully formed with past hurts that are mentioned but the story is about THEIR relationship.
I love, Love, LOVE the way Ash pursues Jackson. He’s immediately smitten then openly and honestly communicates with Jackson. I also loved the way Ash could immediately read Jackson like an open book. Ash never wavers in his desire for all of Jackson and with Jackson’s past I feel like that steadfastness eventually gave him the courage to be open about the feelings he has for Ash.
It was ridiculously cute watching them flirt and slowly gravitate towards each other. It was such a nice romance. A straight forward romance laced with desire that was sort of slow burn but also pretty hot.
Heat level a solid 2/5. There were several smexy times that were well described and erotic but it was more about the MC’s connecting on a physical level with lots of feeling than trying to be erotic literature. This story was packed full of heart and it really was such a wonderful read.
I hope each brother gets their HEA. I’d love to read more.
I would describe this a low angst. There’s sexual tension between the 2 MC’s and maybe some slight angst wondering how things will work out for their relationship but every time I started to get a little worried the characters ended up doing something that reaffirmed their feeling for each other or talking things over with each other.

Oh how I loved this one. This book gave me all the good feelings and made me so happy.
I loved Ash and Jackson’s relationship. Ash was bold and brazen in his pursuit of Jack. He wasn’t shy or embarrassed to openly flirt. Their mutual attraction was instant.
Jack may be a grumpy cowboy but he’s a big softie on the inside. He loves and cares for his family so much and it shows in his actions. Jack is guarded but Ash brings out his softer side though and its so sweet.
I was smiling the whole way through this story. I loved the entire family dynamics and the people of Darling, Montana.
Emmy’s descriptive writing of the ranch and this small town made it feel like a real place that you want to move to. I was totally drawn into the story and had the best time reading it. My heart is full ❤️

Emmy Sanders kills it again!
“So if I’m your sun, then you’re my mountains, Jackson Darling. Any running I do will be to come home to you.”
Emmy Sanders kills it again. I absolutely adored this cowboy masterpiece. I’m convinced there isn’t a single thing she can write that I won’t absolutely devour and love to pieces.
Ash leaves his life in Maine, searching for something more - something that feels like home. He visits his best friend from college in Darling, Montana where he starts working as a chef at a ranch.
Enter Jackson, who is the boss at the ranch and kind of prickly having gone through a bad breakup a few years before. Jack is not super trusting but can’t seem to help letting down his walls when it comes to Ashley Alcott.
The slow burn, the banter, the flirting, the spice - ALL top tier. The chemistry between Ash and Jackson was so perfect. The relationship naturally coming to be was beautiful to watch and I felt myself smiling through this entire book. It was low angst and full of fluffy goodness.
I also really loved the side characters and I cannot wait to read the other books in this series so I can follow all of the Darling brothers.

Ash and Jackson are the first couple in the new series about the Darling brothers. Set in Montana is the background of the series stunning mountains, a small town and a very loving and meddling family. The book is a good story about finding a new meaning in life, taking chances and what good actually talking together can do. I love a book where the drama isn't based on the characters not talking to each other. Emmy Sanders rarely do that (I won't say never, all her books are different). There's plenty of sweet moments, a dash of drama, hot moments and two very lovable men. All in all a book I recommend.

I really love Emmy's writing, and this book hooked me as I expected. And honestly, I thoroughly enjoyed this one. It maybe lost me a little towards the end, but it was still a fun ride. Loved Ash, Jackson, and the whole Darling family. If you're looking for something light, fluffy, and hot, then definitely give this book a try. Audio was fantastic.
