Description

At the intersection of obsession and intimacy lies Sweet, a provocative exploration of desire that refuses to play by the rules. This story dives deep into a complex, high-stakes romance, blurring the lines between vulnerability and control. As the protagonists navigate a dynamic defined by tension, they are forced to confront the darker edges of their own psyches while trying to anchor themselves in one another. The narrative is a cocktail of grit and genuine warmth, oscillating between intense, visceral encounters and moments of unexpected tenderness. While the chemistry crackles with a raw, "spicy" energy that keeps the pages turning, the true heart of the book lies in the unconventional bond formed under pressure. It is a world where safety is fragile and the stakes of falling in love feel perpetually precarious. Though the journey is fraught with atmospheric darkness and moral ambiguity, it ultimately arcs toward a remarkably satisfying conclusion. Sweet is a bold, unapologetic look at what happens when two people collide in the shadows, creating something that is as unsettling as it is undeniably addictive. It is a must-read for those who crave a romance that tastes just as much like jagged edge as it does sugar.

Mind blown

Oh my gosh, I love the heck out of this book. This is the first time I've read a book written by Avery Howl, but believe me when I say that I will be reading another one, hopefully. This book pulls you in from the very beginning. The guessing game is addictive. I was going crazy trying to figure out who the serial killer was and was unable to do much of anything without waiting impatiently to be able to get back to the book. Made doing my daily responsibilities a little difficult. Lol. But man, did I love this book and the ending was so perfect. I am not going to say anything more because I want others to experience the same elation when reading this piece of art. I seriously think this book will find it's way to an award for the Author.

Good Read

I did enjoy this book, but found it a little confusing at times and I thought it could have been a little more detailed and had a few more explanation. I felt sometimes the author tried to allude to a certain feeling or thought, instead of coming out and saying it. This is what causes some of my confusion. Maybe a second read would help too, but not sure I’m that invested. All in all it was a good read. It kept me interested all the way through and I wasn’t disappointed in the ending. That always a plus.

Good up until the ending

This book was really good and stared off strong until the ending. I was able to figure out the twist quickly even tho the author tried to take it another way. It was so good that I wasn’t sure why other readers were confused or had dropped the book. But then came the last couple chapters and the ending, and boy was that disappointing. Well at least the spice was good.

5.35/5 ⭐ 4/5 🌶️

5.35/5 ⭐ 4/5 🌶️ Review of Sweet by Howl Avery This book was insane in the best way possible. Will meets "Cas" through an anonymous dating app & starts falling for him. For the first maybe 2/3 of the book we know that Cas is someone Will knows under a different name but not who that person is. The author does an amazing job of popping in red herrings between the two love interests every time you think you for sure know the identity of our mystery man. That mystery man also just so happens to be a serial killer. If you are tempted to feel bad for Will at this point, just don't. Will is a stalker, sexual sadist & a total playboy. Once he finds out who his guy is, he gets crazy possessive of him. If ever there was someone who wouldn't have moral qualms with murder, it would be Will. It's a wild ride & I recommend it to anyone who loves dark romance. But especially those who love psycho killers & stalkers.

Entertaining, wished it was longer!

So crazy, yet very entertaining! Sweet is a dark, MM romance that has tons of TWs, but also a very cool and exciting story. I really liked the mystery of it all, and I thought the different characters were very well written. Where it maybe fell a bit short for me was that thing felt a bit rushed at times. This story had so many good elements that I really wanted more of, but then they seemed almost «forgotten». But overall it was very entertaining, and I can understand that a lot of fans of dark romance would love this story!
