Description

The ice is cold, but the heat between them is lethal. On the rink, they are fierce competitors, driven by the adrenaline of the game and the dangerous pull of a rivalry that refuses to stay professional. Off the ice, they are tethered by a secret that defies the natural order. One is a witch bound by ancient bloodlines; the other is a creature of the night, hiding an insatiable hunger behind a hockey jersey. Their friendship has always been a slow burn, a delicate balance of longing and restraint, until a collision of magic and desire forces them to choose between their duty and their hearts. As they navigate the high-stakes world of competitive fighting and supernatural tension, the barriers start to crumble. This is a story of visceral passion, where the sting of a cold winter night is nothing compared to the electric touch of a forbidden soulmate. Phoenix Kathryn crafts an extraordinary, addictive world where paranormal stakes meet the raw intensity of a queer romance. It is a haunting, deeply atmospheric exploration of loyalty and love that will leave you breathless. Once the fire starts, it does not stop, making this an unforgettable journey you will want to relive again and again.

Amazing!

Oh, wow. This story was a lot - in a positive way. It was just extraordinary, a captivating story, like every single one I had read by Phoenyx Kathryn. There was so much going on in here that you could never get bored. Magic academy, creative magical hockey, witches, vampires and other creatures - that’s what you will find here. Add to that enemies-to-lovers, one bed and fate, and you have all the ingredients for a fantastic paranormal romance. This was an exceptionally good story - one of my top 3 this year. Pipier has so much trauma in her life, yet despite everything, she was such a good person. Kailani went through a lot during her long life, yet she never met anyone quite like Piper. They were just perfect for each other. Intense chemistry between them was so palpable, and it never faded. The level of spice was high in here. This book was overflowing with emotions. I cried, laughed and felt the intense tension. There were moments of heartbreak that moved me so much, and then my heart was glued back together. The banter between the main characters was just what I needed. Oh, and there was Silas. Well, he was just a unique creature. His sassy self made everything funnier. I really like Phoenyx Kathryn’s writing style. It just draws me into the stories every single time. There is no doubt in my mind that I will read any future books by this author. I can’t wait for the next book in the series! At the end of this book, there is a hint about who it will be about. I am…

Deliciously tortuous

I loved this story so much. It flowed so well. The characters, the twists, the turns, the passion were all wonderfully written. Piper and Kailani are beautifully flawed and they were both very likeable characters. The build up for them just keeps you wanting more and the world building was awesome. The different creatures and magically beings at this very unique school. Oh and Silas you cannot forget about him! His dialogue broke the tension and brought humor in dark moments that I really appreciated. I am excited for what's next by Phoenix Kathryn and I am definitely glad I gave this book a chance because it is now one of my favorites!

Perfectly written The spice level? Read it behind closed doors It is hands-down an anticipated rate of 2025 and it did not disappoint.
