Oren is a lawyer, saving to be able to move home and hang out his shingle, but until then he likes to go to Crowned, a new local kink club, to kick back, relax with friends, or spank a submissive if one presents himself for it. While there one night, he sees a man with a mask and is intrigued. Trying to catch up with him and talk to him, he is thwarted, but he doesn’t forget, nor stop looking for him whenever he is at the club. Noble was a model until an accident disfigured him for life. Aware he looks like a monster (his words), he works the night shift at a convenience store, hides out the rest of the time, except when he ventures out to Crowned to blend into the background with his mask, and maybe play if that presents itself. When he notices an alpha following him in the club, he flees, knowing the alpha would not be interested in him once he saw his face. Due to a happy coincidence (at least on Oren’s par), he runs into Noble as he is leaving at the end of his shift. Oren recognizes him and offers coffee, which Noble accepts. Thus begins a slow-moving courtship on Oren’s part, letting Noble get comfortable with him, learn more about him, and work to build trust with this nice young man. When they shift one night, Oren already knows Noble is his mate, but Noble realizes it too, and the relationship takes its natural course as Oren accepts Noble wholeheartedly, scars and all, telling him how beautiful he is, and making him believe it. This is a slow-moving, slow burn…

An amazing story. After the accident that scarred his face, Noble thinks no one would want to see him. So the night shift at a convenience store is perfect for him. The only time he enjoyed was at Crowned where he can wear a mask and no one would ask questions. Oren has been trying to save money so he could move back home after he had enough. When he sees an omega in Crowned he is sure is his mate, he tries to talk to him. But before he could the omega disappears. Noble had seen the alpha coming towards him but fearing he would be rejected for his scars, he walks away. But when the same alpha comes into the store, and asks him to join him for coffee, Noble knows he cant stay away. But will Oren accept Noble with all his scars? Loved reading this story. Thanx. I really, really liked this one. The characters, as always, were likable. Oren was a good alpha working his way through life as a lawyer to give back to his hometown. Noble went through something catastrophic and is still navigating life after. We are back at Crowned. If you have been reading this series, you know Crowned well. Oren and Noble notice each other at Crowned. Their wolves really notice each other. Noble fought the connection. Something was wrong with him that no wolf would overlook, right? He did not deserve a mate. The pull was there. These two were drawn together. When they finally meet, Oren does not notice Noble's flaws. To Oren, Noble is perfect. Oren is friends with many of the owners of Crowned. I am happy both will be a fixture there. I love hearing about previous couple's lives.
