The best sapphic fake relationship trope I’ve read so far!
I agree with another reviewer, this is the best fake relationship book I’ve read, and I also immediately subscribed to the author’s newsletter. I don’t always enjoy the fake relationship trope but this one was so well done. I also appreciated the POC representation and learned a lot about different types of hair. This book opened my eyes in a positive way. The reasons for the fake relationship were believable and I was fully onboard.
Kayla is a biracial woman who wants to be a hard hitting journalist but has been relegated to writing mostly entertainment fluff pieces at a magazine. She moved from North Carolina to Miami, FL where her father’s side of the family lives. She has a big beautiful family and enjoys Sunday dinners with them as well as monthly dinners with her cousin Jennifer. Her mom is back in North Carolina and lives with bouts of depression. In Kayla’s eyes her mom hasn’t been the same since her father died while in the service in Afghanistan. Since she saw the heartbreak her mom went through she has been afraid to get into a relationship herself. Kayla thinks her big journalism break could come by interviewing Aria Wilson the billionaire CEO for Symphony hair care, a product line that specializes in black hair.
Aria started the Symphony product line when she was in college studying to become a chemical engineer. When she decided to really focus on creating her own company her longtime serious girlfriend gave her an ultimatum and Aria chose starting her own…
From Fake Relationship to Real Love
Aria is a workaholic ice queen billionaire CEO of a black hair care company she founded and runs with her three siblings. As the oldest, she feels the self-imposed pressure to be another parent to them and set a good example. So she does not handle it well when she gets laughingly called out by them about her dating life. Her sister tells her she can't bring some arm candy to her wedding. In a knee-jerk reaction to save face, she tells them she has a girlfriend. Now she has to find someone who can stand up to the scrutiny and bring her to the wedding.
Kayla is a self-doubting journalist stuck writing puff pieces while wary of getting laid off. She sees getting an in-depth interview with Aria, who hasn't given an interview in a decade, as a chance to do the kind of writing she'd love to do and show her magazine she's an asset worth keeping.
While faking their relationship to Aria's family, and denying it to Kayla's, they get to know each other. They learn their similarities, and the ways they complement each other. Aria gets to see beyond the walls Kayla built to protect her heart, and emotional well-being. If you never fall in love, you can't fall apart when its over. And Kayla sees the real Aria hidden from the public. This powerful CEO is a Star Trek fan, a chemistry nerd, and is obsessed with crossword puzzles.
Throughout the course of the wedding events it becomes harder to ignore their attraction. And its obvious to the people around them. You get a front-row seat,…

Just finished Styled for Show by Candi Tab, and I absolutely loved it! From start to finish, this book is packed with creativity, insight, and a real passion for styling that shines through every page. Candi has such a natural way of breaking things down so they feel approachable and inspiring, whether you’re completely new to styling or already have some experience.
What really stood out to me was how practical and encouraging it is—you don’t just read it, you feel motivated to actually do something with what you’ve learned. The visuals, ideas, and tips all come together in a way that feels both professional and personal.
If you’re interested in styling, presentation, or just want a fresh burst of creative inspiration, I highly recommend giving this one a read. It’s uplifting, informative, and genuinely enjoyable!

sweet billionaire romance!
As someone who has been living in Miami for almost 30 years, this sapphic romance that set in Miami makes me feel intimate and relatable. All the locations named in the book are real, and most of them are pretty accurate. My only disappointment is that the dog park in the expensive and super conservative Pinecrest is beyond believable, also the majority of millionaire home owners there are not Cubans or Hispanic, they won't allow loud Cuban rap music near their quiet neighborhood. I really enjoyed this fake dating, rich girl poor girl romance, although there is no surprise factors, and a bit cliche. The characters are likable, the story uplifting, especially for black lesbians.
Fabulous Fake Dating Romance!
4.5⭐️ Lovey fake dating sapphic romance! I received an advance review copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Neither Kayla nor Aria are interested in a relationship. Kayla needs a scoop to help her career. Aria needs a fake girlfriend to attend numerous functions and a destination wedding for her sister. When Kayla tries to get an interview with Aria by showing up in the company parking lot, they decide on something to benefit them both. Little do they both know that it just might be the best decision for their hearts.
Well written and paced with plenty of emotion and steam. Sweet tension and genuine connection along with beautifully described landscapes provide the main pull in the wonderful sapphic romance. Recommend!!
