Description

Julien Kendrick has everything privilege can buy, yet his soul feels entirely hollow. Trapped in a gilded cage of societal expectations and toxic relationships, he decides to embark on a final, self-destructive mission: a two-week escape before he chooses to end his life. Seeking a companion for his swan song, Julien finds an unexpected match in a stunning, guarded street worker who carries the weight of a horrific past. Romeo has spent his life living by a rigid, bleak code of survival: no intimacy, no attachments, and绝对 no love. For him, Julien was supposed to be nothing more than a ticket out of his cycle of abuse—a temporary payday that would grant him the means to disappear forever. But when the cold, professional barrier between them is shattered by Julien’s genuine, unwavering kindness, Romeo finds his resolve crumbling. What begins as a transactional arrangement quickly spirals into a desperate quest for redemption. As the two-week deadline looms, both men must face the terrifying possibility that they have found the one person capable of saving them. In a race against time and their own damaged histories, Julien and Romeo must decide if they are brave enough to choose a future together.

One very hard won HEA

This book pulled me in and I couldn’t put it down once I started reading it. From the absolute horror of what both Julien and Romeo have experienced in their short lives to the the healing that they both start to experience as they both reveal to each other the pain that they’ve each gone through. As they both learn what it means to have joy, happiness, family and even love for the first time in their lives this book will put you through an emotional rollercoaster. Reading this book was both cathartic and healing and is going to become a reread mainstay in my library. Please take the trigger warnings in the book to heart and take care of yourself while reading, there are some very dark topics covered but the payoff in the end is so worth it.
