A Sweet & Encouraging Way To Fall In Love!
I love this series. These cozy stories from Agnes DuMont (Melissa T) are sweet, caring and loving. We have a wedding coming, Olivia & Jesse from Book 1. The nosy neighbors are back and the town of Thistlecroft is thriving on gossip. Grace Parker is moving into The Lavender Cottage in Thistlecroft. She is leaving London, a divorce from a seventeen year marriage, constantly trying to be seen and looking for some quiet. But when a woman shows up, a handy woman Rowan Miller things start to get very interesting. This has just the right amount of banter, flirting and sweetness. I love that this book made me laugh. I loved the connection and the protective energy that comes through. I love the support facing the eyes of the disapproving. It is a beautiful story.
Grace and Rowan meet in the most unlikely circumstance. As they dance around their attraction, they accept what everyone else knows - they are made for eachother. Add Brenda, the gorgeous, golden retriever and their family is set. The lovely town of Thistlecroft is growing and Agnes has given us a wonderful story.

This book was so much fun to read. I’ve loved this series. There’s nothing like life in a small village where everyone knows everyone, and the gossip and drama spread fast. Right away, you can feel the chemistry between Grace and Rowan.
I enjoyed watching Grace rediscover who she is and shed the version of herself she thought she was supposed to be. She takes her power back from the people who believed they knew what was best for her or who they thought she should become. I also loved that she has conversations with Brenda, her dog. Grace must also learn how to adjust to small-town life, where everyone seems to know your business, especially coming from a big city.
Rowan had built the life she wanted—or at least the life she thought she wanted. She created a safe world for herself so she wouldn’t get hurt again. She had one rule, and now she has to decide whether to break it. Rowan also has to face her fear of being hurt again.
Overall, this was a heartwarming and entertaining read with great chemistry, character growth, and all the small-town drama I love.
This second book in the Thistlecroft series was even better than the first book that I also enjoyed reading. The story about Grace and Rowan is having all the same small-town vibes and of course some gossip involved, but it is not the focus as in the first book. Instead, it is about how they finally get a chance at real love after struggling all their adult love with finding that true love. It is so sweet to read about their slow burn love story and the sexual awakening for Grace. Extra bonus points to get some more of Olivia and Jessie and their upcoming wedding in this book.
Grace has left big city life and her 17-year long marriage for a new start in Thistlecroft, the cottage she has purchased needs a lot of fixing and there comes the handy woman Rowan in. Rowan is crushing from the very beginning, but she has had a very bad experience with straight women in the past so Grace a no-go for her, she refuses to be an experiment one more time. If anything is to happen it is all up to Grace to convince Rowan about that she is different, that is a challenge on top of finding out she is into women at a mature age. To read about how all that unravels is so cute and at the same so fun to read.
This second book in the Thistlecroft series is as good as if not better than the first. Newly divorced Grace moves to town to start over away from the painful past. Rowan the handsome handy woman offers her services to get the house in shape. The most important member of the book is Brenda. A beautiful Golden retriever that falls in love with Rowan. This is a very low angst book. Full of warmth, laughs, friendship, and just good writing.
Rom Com at its best.
