This first book was so sweet. From an embarrassing attempt at making the team to a HEA. Rowan was so cute, I could picture him trying to seduce Reid in order to make the roster. I could also see Reid rolling his eyes at the attempt while fighting to stay in control. When it finally breaks and they come together, Reid is all in which was a pleasant surprise. No over thinking on his part. It is a quick story that puts a smile on your face.
"I cringed just thinking about how I’d approached Coach like I was some irresistible omega."
This is book 1 in a new series by Jena Wade called League of Ice Kings: Port City Badgers. Oh my, what a great start to a new series. I think she has a hit on her hands especially with hockey being a hot trope right now.
Both characters have regrets about what happened 5 years ago after the college hockey tryouts. Now they have a chance to make things right.
Non-shifter, alpha/omega, found family, first times, an unplanned heat, mpreg
Rowan and Reid share a past that Rowan would very much prefer Reid forget—seriously, it’s that embarrassing. Back then, Rowan was determined to make the hockey team and wasn’t above a little flirting to get noticed. Five years later, he’s happily working as a mascot, honestly a perfect fit, until fate throws him back into Reid’s orbit as the new coach. Their reunion is packed with awkward tension, unresolved history, and just the right amount of second-chance energy. I highly recommend this book for all the cringe-worthy moments and the satisfying payoff.
A sweet relationship that almost wasn't. Mildly angsty with HEA. Looks like a good start to the series.
Loved Rowan! His bad decision turned out to the best thing that had happened to him. I think I'm going to enjoy this series! Can't wait for Elliott book!!
