When it comes to love, age is… just a number!?
After years of all work/no fun lifestyle, Alice agreed to take 2 weeks off at Miranda’s vacation house. Miranda and Alice have been best friends for over 30 years and had become business partners. Alice have seen Joy, Miranda’s 29 years old daughter, grow up, but there are few details about Joy’s life that are unknown to Alice, and are about to affect her. The same evening Alice had arrived to what she thought would be her relaxation paradise; her intended solitary vacation is hampered by Miranda’s call announcing Joy’s arrival. As soon as Joy arrives to the house, Alice’s life goes upside down. What starts as an annoying intrusion, will evolved into an unexpected passion, complemented by an emotional storm where guilt and love will collide.
Due to start a new job, Joy will leave Alice alone with too many tormented thoughts and willing to convince herself that her experience with Joy was only a holiday fling. However, the awakening of unexpected feelings and unknown sexual needs, will shatter her self-control, making her question her past existence. Before facing Miranda again, Alice will manage to convince herself that the age gap and her friendship and business relationship with Miranda, are the best reasons to keep herself apart from Joy. Of course, she is not counting on Joy’s feisty behavior when it comes to love…
For a hardcore romantic like me, Harper Bliss did it again. She was able to create another charming, romantic and spicy story that kept me captive from…

Finished it in a day! One of my better reads this year, the atmosphere and tension were just so well done. Once the protagonists got together, I was pretty surprised to see how early into the book I was- it felt like the sexual tension was building for much longer than it was, which is just how I like it. Realistic discussion of the consequences of the relationship, stays sympathetic to everyone involved, doesn't really make a "bad guy" out of anyone. I did have one issue that knocked it down a bit for me- the conversation about men not being able to do monogamy struck me as a bit strange. Not that I expect a lesbian romance novel to only have good things to say about men, it was just a bit out of place. Felt like an odd stance to take and the suddenness/confusion took me out of the story a bit. Otherwise, this was an almost perfect fun read with just enough angst to keep it interesting without making you cry. I plan to check out more from the author!

Best Book Ever be sure to read it
I agree with the author, this is her best book ever. The plot has many facets to it. Her previous books have had a somewhat start to finish plot with no complications for the characters. This book has some interesting complications for the characters to overcome.
The main character is a middle aged solicitor who is in a partnership with her best friend. She is a workaholic who hardly ever takes any time off. Her partner makes her take two weeks vacation in a house that she owns in Portugal. She gets to the condo and is barely settled in, when her partner calls her to ask if it's OK for her daughter to spend a week at the house. She says she knows it's an imposition on her, but her daughter needs to relax before starting her new new job. So the partner agrees and the daughter shows up.
At first she is put off by the rather brash behavior of the young lady, but soon finds herself falling in love with the younger woman. When it comes time for the young woman to leave, the older woman begins to have doubts about the relationship. What if this is just a middle aged crisis? What are we going to do once we both are back in London seeing as how the younger woman's mother is my best friend and business partner? Things eventually work out for the couple, but with a lot of stress along the way.

Love sometimes comes to those who aren't even looking for it.
What would you do if the person who brings "Joy" back into your life, was the person you were least expecting? What if the person who makes you feel more alive than you ever have turns out to be a younger woman, whom happens to be your long-time best friend's daughter?
One of my favorite type of story is the May-December romance. Harper Bliss has given us a beautifully written love story between Alice and Joy. Ride along with Alice as she discovers life is more than working all the time. As she discovers that first blush of attraction to another woman. As she tries to figure out if loving Joy is worth the risk of losing not only her business partner but her best friend as well.
I love reading a book that completely pulls me in, not only with beautifully descriptive writing, but is a page turner
as well. My only regret is that it inevitably ends. I judge books on multiple things, but one criteria is would I read it
again? I can tell you that absolutely Yes! I will reread this! I highly recommend any of Harper Bliss's works. Also I encourage
you to check out her website if your interested in taking a peek at her inspiration for Alice!
