Description

Denver’s underworld of high-stakes tension and found family reaches its breathtaking finale in Salvaged, a deeply emotional dive into the volatile sparks between Wheeler and Poppy. Within the interconnected web of the Saints of Denver, this installment stands out as a raw, introspective journey toward healing and hard-won love. Wheeler is a woman defined by her sharp edges and a past she struggles to outrun, while Poppy brings a vibrant, grounding force that challenges those defenses in ways neither expected. Their relationship is far from a fairy tale; it is a complex, heart-stopping collision of two souls trying to find solid ground amidst the chaos of their lives. As they navigate their complicated history and the weight of personal burdens, the chemistry between them sizzles with authenticity and palpable longing. With prose that balances gritty reality with moments of lyrical beauty, the authors weave a narrative that feels both intimate and expansive. Readers who have followed the Saints throughout their turbulent journey will be rewarded with a conclusion that is as cathartic as it is gorgeous. Salvaged is more than just a romance; it is a masterclass in emotional stakes, proving that even the most broken pieces can be made whole again.

Beautiful ending to a fantastic series.

Oh my word! One fantastic heart wrenching truly beautifully written story. If you are looking for a book where you're all in as are the characters, this is THE book to read. I absolutely loved Wheeler and Poppy, and was pleasantly surprised with Wheelers description, I don't know, perhaps it was because how his ex Kallie was so dreadful to him, and that he allowed it to happen. This was my soul telling her soul that it had been waiting for a long time to find its other half. This story of healing hearts has you invested with how Poppy and Wheeler get through this life they find themselves in. With everything Poppy went through at the dreadful hands of both her father and her husband, people who are supposed to love her. I loved Salem and Rowdy before, but even more that they were able to help Poppy's situation. Loved that Poppy was working through the terrors that had plagued her and that she was able to move on. Wheeler was an all round good egg! he loved with a veracity that kept him grounded, he had manners of someone with a much different upbringing than he had. He was a fighter for survival. Poppy was what forever was supposed to feel like. The abusive story line really tugs at your heart, and with the blossoming love between Wheeler and Poppy, it is piece by piece slowly knitted back together. You experience such raw emotion whilst reading their story and whilst I was (in my head!) hoping for thing to move faster, you certainly realise the need…

Salvaged is a story about accepting the good things life has to offer and learning the past doesn't define you.

6 Star Review Salvaged is Jay Crownover's best book in both the Saints of Denver and Marked Men Series. This novel will touch your soul and leave you with a great sense of hope. When it comes to Hudson Wheeler most would think that old saying "nice guys finish last" was created just for him. I tend to think the old saying "good things come to those who wait" was created by him. Readers were first introduced to Hudson Wheeler in Marked Men series. This quiet, sexy, unassuming mechanic has intrigued readers throughout the Marked Men series and the Saints of Denver series. He has earned the respect of all the men in the series. His earnest quiet nature has intrigued all the ladies throughout the series. He seems like the perfect guy except for his choices in women. His fiancee is another matter. It's blatantly obvious she's using him and cheating. It seems like he has turned a blind eye and lets her walk all over him. When he's finally had enough and learns that her betrayal is more than some wild escapades, he walks away with a broken heart. The problem is he doesn't really know how to move on. He's been with the same girl since he was in high school. Her family became the family he never had. They turned their backs on him when he broke the engagement. Now she's pregnant with his baby so he can never completely break his ties with her. His dream of having a family has changed and he doesn't know how to alter those dreams. He has no idea how to be a father because he never…

3.5 - 4 stars

Finished this gem this morning and took a minute to sort my feelings for an honest review. I really did love it. Jay is Awesome. I adore her books. I await each release like a kid at Christmas. She's one of my all-time fav's. But I did have just a few things that bugged me and brought this book to a 4-ish star book. Poppy and Wheeler seemed like a couple truly made for each other. They really did. But the drama we get mostly in the book had me questioning parts of their relationship. Some of this may seem a little spoiler-ish, but I won't involve any detail. We instantly find out that Wheeler is expecting a baby with his ex. Poppy we know, is still recovering from her traumatic events with her ex-husband. Both Poppy and wheeler learn to deal with these situations, but I kind of felt like poppy was left out of Wheelers journey a little bit. I didn't like that they each spent holidays apart. Especially since Wheeler didn't have any ties to his ex's family anymore. Yes, His ex was having his baby, but spending a family filled holiday season with them seemed weird. They weren't even mentioned after Wheeler cleared the air about their relationship. Anyway, moving on. I seriously disliked the way Poppy treated the people (and the unborn baby) with hurt and jealousy every single time they were mentioned in a scene. I completely understand her reason for being sad, but this wasn't sad. This was almost distain. I first felt it in Rowdy and Salam's book and it irked me the way…

“I knew all about needing to find something that tethered you to reality. Without it, the past and the possibility of a shattered present could fling you into a really ugly place that was hard to escape from.” I swear I wrote this review after I finished reading the book, but alas I never did. But as proof of how absolutely amazing this novel is, I still find myself constantly thinking about it months later. I've re-read this book 2 times already because I honestly can't get enough of Poppy and Wheeler's story. It is just that good. Every book by Jay Crownover makes me feel thousands upon thousands of emotions, and I wouldn't want it any other way. And how many times in life can you feel an author is truly speaking to you? With every character and every book Jay writes, you feel like she was writing her book directly for you. And that my friends is something incredibly rare in literature. To be able to connect with a character in the way that Jay lets you, it something that very few authors have a gift for, and I am count myself fortunate to be able to read her words. “I could do one day at a time because I was finally in a place where I realized how very lucky I was to still be here making my way through the days, be they good or bad.” I was intrigued by Poppy's character as soon as we met her, and was praying that she would get her own book. I knew in many ways that it would wreck me and shatter my heart into millions of tiny pieces. But I didn't care... I needed her…

Happily-Ever-After for the two of the people most deserving of it. A classical story of love being enough.

"This was healing. This was starting over. This was reinvention." I've read a lot of books. Like, a whole lot of them. And yet, I can't remember any of the other book characters that were as good, as broken and yet as strong and beautiful as Poppy and Wheeler. I can't remember if there were any other characters for whom I wished Happily-Ever-After more than for these two! In some ways this was the story I expected. The story about healing, finding and reclaiming your strength, your sense of all you can do, of letting yourself hope and wish and believe. In other ways, Jay surprised me. I mean, for me this was one of her sexiest books so far! And then, it was also super emotional, intense and heart-breaking. It was all I expected, and then some more! You know that quote of Thomas Helm's: "My test of a good novel is dreading to begin the last chapter" ? Well, I've known it for a long time and it had NEVER, ever before been so true as for Salvaged. Thank you Jay, for giving us these amazing worlds of Denver's Marked Men and Saints! Thank you for writing beautiful stories of misunderstood, sometimes broken, but always strong and amazing people and letting us share them with you! These books have been such a significant part of my life, and for all that you taught me, thank you. "(...) but I was done hiding." And Poppy and Wheeler... you've got to love them. And it's amazing seeing them heal, grow, SURVIVE, LOVE and make their FAMILY together. That family, so diverse, so…
