Recommended, Romantic Read of 2 masculine men
Great fictional dreamy read, that makes you feel like you're part of the storyline. This is a great read for those who love the vision of a down-to-earth, pragmatic, and romantic experience. The author definitely knows what they are doing!
Read on KU.
4 and 1/2 stars for me really.
I absolutely loved this book.
Lucas Greene works at a frozen food company trying to maintain his delicate lifestyle in New York and struggling to keep up. When he and his long time friend are forcefully given an assignment to go down to Texas and steal some award winning recipes for his vile company he puts aside his guilt in the name of getting a promotion if he succeeds.
What he doesn't count on is falling for the bbq reining champion and local cowboy, Beau Turner.
Suddenly he's torn between his growing infatuation with Beau or losing everything he has in New York.
Lucas and Beau were so loveable and cute, the storyline was somewhat predictable I still thorough enjoyed it.
The spice was fantastic too, their chemistry was palpable and their love was easy to root for.
Even though I knew Lucas had to betray Beau it still hurt but they worked through it of course so thankfully a HEA 😌
Highly recommend for any contemporary MM lover, this is book one of the cowboy series but this could definitely could be read as a standalone. The next book will focus on Lucas's friend and colleague that's from Beau's Texas small hometown so I will be continuing the series.
Happy reading!

This book was awesome!!!!
I do believe I have a new best cowboy romance!!!!!! This is my first with this author I've got the first 3 books & I can't wait to start the next!!! The way the book is written you can almost feel the Texas heat and the dust - and the characters were so very awesome I mean you are right there with them crying and yelling when Lucas screws up - it really is unreal!!!!!
Thank you so ooo much - Lori
Sometimes love really can overcome all
This is the first book that I've read by this author, but it definitely won't be the last. First, I just have to say that the book cover? GORGEOUS BEYOND BELIEF 😍 The beautiful cover caught my eye, but the blurb made me rush to read this book as soon as I found it, and I'm glad that I did. I mean, who doesn't want to read a book about hot cowboys who find the love of their lives under the endless Texas sky? This was an interesting concept with the book being about Lucas living in New York and working for a frozen food company who asked him and his best friend to steal recipes from good hardworking people or else they were going to be fired. With student loans and the cost of living in New York they felt like they had no other choice but man did I hate knowing what Lucas was in Sagebrush to do and then him meeting the gorgeous, sweet, most down to Earth cowboy who is scared to be who he is in his small town because of the hate he'd get. So many times in my head, I was yelling at Lucas while he was getting to know Beau more to stop being an idiot and to not go through with his betrayal! But that showed how tight of a spot Lucas was in and that he continuously felt bad and in the end he realized that love and Beau was so much more important than a job he hated and a crappy apartment he could barely afford. Lucas and Beau's love story was a bit fast paced and I would have liked to get to know more about Lucas as a person since Beau was so open with his fear of saying he's gay,…
What could have been a hot cowboy first-time romance with heart was unfortunately buried under endless Hallmark-movie cliches.
It started from the beginning with the absolutely ridiculous reason for two NYC marketing professionals to head to Texas. Stealing bbq recipes to make tv dinners. Really? Manufacturers have in-house R&D. And if they sent people on a “business trip,” they would pay for plane fare and lodging. So the reasoning that Lucas and Logan are broke because they’re paying for their own travel and driving to Texas is ridiculous. Also ridiculous is that their $2,000 (dirt cheap) rent for a one bedroom apartment in NYC that they’re NOT SHARING is somehow also breaking the bank.
I know you have to suspend disbelief to read romance a lot of the time, but this was just example after example of completely nonsensical ridiculousness. And the cliched writing lasted until the end. Some examples: during a sex scene, Beau acted with “practiced ease.” But he’s a virgin, so….what practice? And after the second time having sex a remark was made that it “never loses its appeal.” Well, it’s only been twice, so I should hope you’re not bored with it already. And “the city slicker had come a long way since his first awkward attempts at horseback riding.” Really? His ONE attempt, when he almost died was less than a week ago. How could he have “come a long way” if this is his second time on a horse? It’s like the author had all these phrases in his head that he wanted to use but…
