I love the way this author writes. I especially love all of the books she's written. Her books are hot and steamy while on the side of angst and BDSM. This book had me in knots and then had me not liking Valerie at all to the point they didnt need to be together at all. I wish the story could have been more romantic. I wish Valerie would have gave up her rules in the place of love, but she didn't only when she was forced to look into the face of mortality. The one thing she did not want to lose she almost lost in the end. It really wasn't a choice. It is HEA. I enjoyed the book, I know u will too.
Hot heartwarming fun passionate love story A must read
Very well written. Hot. My heartstrings pulled all the right directions. And my core rocked at the steamy ones too. A must read for wlw fans, romance fans, age gap fans, hea fans, sexy fans, and literary fans. I've loved this author from the first book I read. Even if the same phrases appear often, I am just So immersed in words that speak volumes. Well done again to Emily Hayes. I yearn for my own love story one day. Until then, I have hope reading her words in her books. Then tension was so palpable, it lit me on fire😍 and I just was reading words.

Lighthearted medical romance is an excellent choice for summer entertainment in my opinion.
The heat levels are high and there are some exciting moments throughout the book.
It wasn’t a bad book. I did like the opposites attract theme. The spicy parts were very spicy. There were a few typos that drove me crazy. I had to reread the parts to make sure I wasn’t mistaken. This is my first book by this author. I’m willing to try one more to see how I feel about their writing style.
A New Hearts Medical Romance Series Has Been Born!
I don’t think Emily Hayes gets enough credit with her storytelling and writing. She tackles subjects that most would not touch. Her series whether medical or hospital or emergency have such strong and engaging characters. This new series does exactly that. You have the head of surgery being forced to take a highly qualified surgeon into her folds. Valerie sees Ella for exactly what she is, a young, rule breaker who was fired from her last hospital for disobeying the heads there. Even though Ella is beautiful and sexy and alluring to her, she will not go against her rules for anyone. But Ella has decided that Valerie was hot and sexy especially when she is mad at her and was going to get under Valerie’s skin. Will Valerie lose her patience with Ella first or will their attraction cause a whole bunch of new problems. Really enjoyed this new one and looking forward to the next in the series.
