Description

Dr. Isla Bennett thrives in the fray of Oakridge Hospital’s trauma bay, where the stakes are life-or-death and protocol is often a luxury she cannot afford. As a surgeon who trusts her gut over the rulebook, she has earned a reputation for genius—and for being a professional headache for the hospital’s administration. Enter Marianne Cole: the new Director of Risk and Compliance. Marianne is the antithesis of Isla’s chaotic brilliance. Poised, disciplined, and unshakably professional, Marianne is tasked with tempering Isla’s reckless streak and protecting the hospital from liability. From their very first encounter, sparks—and arguments—fly as they clash over the ethics of medicine and the nature of control. But as Marianne pulls back the layers of Isla’s defiance, she discovers a fierce, compassionate heart that justifies every gamble. Simultaneously, Isla finds herself drawn to the woman behind the rigid professional facade. As the tension between them deepens, the professional rivalry transforms into a high-stakes emotional collision. In a world where they are both defined by their grip on stability, Isla and Marianne are about to learn that the most dangerous risk of all isn't found in the operating room—it is the one they take when they finally let their guards down.

conflict isn’t always bad..

This book seemed a little different from the rest of the series not sure the word I’m using is correct but more sentimental, emotional. Think with a good book you become involved with the characters and the emotions the author is trying to convey. Found myself laughing out loud and also reduced to tears on occasion which might have more to do with my experience as a patient in hospitals. Think you’re enjoy this book and the characters.
