Description

Finley is at the end of his rope, scraping by in a city that refuses to let him breathe. When a series of disastrous choices leaves him staring down the barrel of eviction, he finds himself in an unlikely arrangement with Leo, a man who is as insufferable as he is magnetic. What starts as a desperate, strictly transactional fix for a mounting pile of bills quickly devolves into a scorching game of cat and mouse that neither of them is prepared to win. As they navigate the friction of living in such close quarters, the walls between them begin to crumble. The banter is sharp, the tension is relentless, and the stakes of their shared space force them to confront parts of themselves they’ve long kept hidden. This is a story of two people colliding in the messiest, most beautiful way possible—a journey that transitions from a simple, spicy arrangement to an undeniable, soul-deep tethering. Jesse H. Reign delivers a masterclass in dual perspective, painting an intimate portrait of vulnerability and heat. It is a raw, heart-wrenching, and ultimately triumphant exploration of finding home in an unexpected place, guaranteed to leave you swooning through a few happy tears.

Unimaginably Amazing!!!

I legit have no words. I wasn't expecting any of this! This is one of the few books I wish I could delete from my brain just so I can re-read it over and over and over. I read this book so fast and just couldn't help to bookmark my favorite pages (PLURAL) and reread them! 10/10. Amazing characters and plot, amazing detail, super spicy and fun. Just magic. Don't even get me started on the epilogue. I'm no crybaby and I'm not emotional but that whole last chapter and the prelude to it damaged me in the best way possible I had to pause a couple times and wipe my tears. Insane work! I'll definitely be reading this AGAIN and more books from this author.

way too long

An unusual in depth story of rare MM Romance. Well worth the effort until it goes on and on. Rare explicit salacious writing—delicious if it’s your thing. To me worth a 5 but for the unneeded length.

An amazing gay college roommate romance

Miller is populer and rich. He is charming and handsome. He just got a new roommate named Ryan. He can't get Ryan out of his head. He likes to stalk his new roommate. He slowly is becoming obsessed with the moody, sparky loner. When Ryan starts drowning in debt and is low on funds, Miller comes up with a plan for the other man to make money. All Ryan has to do is submit to Miller's desires for cash. What starts off as lust and fantasy slowly start to become something more real and important. But can Miller convince Ryan to give him a chance at something deeper. This is a great gay romance between two opposite characters. Miller is charming and funny. He is also that guy that is caring. It is unusual to read a college romance where the rich guy is the sweetheart. Ryan has alot of issues. He has anxiety and grew up being bullied. He expects the worse from everyone. He can't understand why Miller would be attracted to him. This is a sweet, romantic tale with great male leads. I loved how the book ended. I highly recommend.

Not for me…

I gave it a good try but I DNF’d at 53%. I was honestly interested in Miller’s POV and why he was so captivated by Ryan, and I was very sympathetic to Ryan’s POV regarding his past bullying. However… the author’s suggestion in the blurb to read the content notes on the copyright page was not to be ignored. And I overlooked it. I trusted other reviews instead. I found myself increasingly uncomfortable with the tone of reluctance and coercion in all of the steamy scenes. Character motivations were muddled and contradictory and it treaded dubious enough water that I eventually had to stop. Once I saw that a bully role play was in the content notes I knew I made the right decision. That is definitely not my speed. A little sad bc I did want to know more about the characters’ family lives but I suspect that the story doesn’t get too deep into that. I may be wrong but the first 50% was all slightly fraught sex scenes and I don’t expect that to have changed in the last half. Stories like these obviously have an audience, but I am just not part of it.

Fun, SPICY and beautiful 🤩🥵🖤

This book was a fun, spicy and entertaining read that’s centered around the couple with minimal side character stories involved . I loved that the book was focused on Ryan and miller because it made it that more intense and enthralling. Ryan is someone who keeps getting in his own way of happiness and miller is a stubborn , arrogant rich boy who knows what he wants and doesn’t stop until he gets it. The main characters personality blended together perfectly to create an emotional , evocative and beautiful story. Highly highly recommend reading ! Btw let me just say the spice ! The spice ! 🥵
