Description

Elise has spent years carefully curating a quiet, predictable life in the heart of Massachusetts, keeping her true desires locked away behind a professional facade. When she reconnects with Julianne, a woman whose vibrant spirit and chaotic energy once defined her youth, the carefully constructed walls around her heart begin to crumble. What starts as a nostalgic trip down memory lane quickly spirals into a tangle of undeniable chemistry and long-buried feelings. This story explores the delicate tension of a friends-to-lovers dynamic, complicated by a significant age gap that forces both women to confront their fears about the future. As they navigate the messy intersection of past promises and present passion, they must decide if the risk of heartbreak is worth the chance at a life they never dared to imagine together. Readers rave about the raw, emotional depth and the sparkling wit that defines this series. It is a heartfelt, erotic journey that balances heavy drama with laugh-out-loud moments of human connection. Whether you are finding these characters for the first time or returning to their world, you will be swept away by the intense longing and authentic love that makes this romance impossible to put down.

A stellar read!

I love the way Adrian J Smith writes. There is so much passion, anxiety, and love in these characters. I just reread this and feel a deeper need to share my feelings for these characters, they are so well presented and lovingly detailed. The story is set in a private school where staff are maybe freer than in the current setting of public schools, here the students are controlled, respect is shared with parents, staff and children. Maybe that is why I have a deeper feeling for this book. I just know I love it.

Promises

I read the second book first not knowing it was a series, I read this book right after and I loved how it pieced together all the parts together and made it flow. I’ll definitely be reading the third in the series.
