Description

Mara Ellison has sacrificed everything to lead the Phoenix Ridge Valkyries into the elite ranks of the PWHL, building her team on a foundation of ironclad strategy and unwavering discipline. For Mara, there is no room for error, and certainly no room for players who treat the ice like a playground. Enter Lex Landry, a high-octane former international field hockey icon with her sights set on conquering a new sport. Lex is as brilliant as she is infuriating, possessing a reckless charisma that threatens to unravel the carefully constructed order Mara has fought so hard to establish. To Lex, rules are mere suggestions, and Mara’s cool, professional exterior is the ultimate challenge. Their friction is instantaneous, turning every practice into a high-stakes standoff. As the intensity of their rivalry scales, so does an undeniable, scorching attraction that neither woman can afford to acknowledge. Trapped between the drive for championship glory and the pull of a dangerous desire, Mara and Lex must decide if they are fighting to destroy one another or to find common ground. In the volatile world of professional hockey, they are about to learn that the most electrifying plays happen off the stat sheet.

Book 2

Excellent continuation of Phoenix Ridge Hockey. I really liked the main characters especially once they were able to open up. I'm going to read book 3 now.

This story travels at the speed of a puck after a slap shot across the ice!

Emily Hayes has spoiled this genre for anyone else! The characters she has developed and the setting, especially at Lavender’s are just so real! Even the media issues are realistic. So many lines are crossed you can’t help but cheer for the entire cast of characters! The fierce nature of the game is matched by the ferocious heat between the two MC’s. This style of writing fills my old body with memories of my youth. Thank you Emily for that gift.
