Maverick and Skye!! My first omega verse and I loved it!
I’ll admit it, when I first saw this was an omegaverse story, I was hesitant. The dynamic was new to me, and I wasn’t sure what to expect. But wow… I’m so glad I took the chance. I did a little research to understand the terminology, and once I dove in, I was hooked. Maverick and Skye completely stole my heart.
These two soft, sweet souls are impossible not to love. Their story is proof that the universe has a funny way of putting people in your life when you're ready, even if you don't realize it. Their connection was so deeply buried under layers of secrecy and misunderstanding, it hurt to see how convinced they were that the other didn’t feel the same. Imagine having your first real crush, always close but just out of reach, tangled up in years of quiet longing and a meddling, well meaning brother constantly (and unknowingly) keeping you apart. My heart!
Cora brought their love to life with tenderness and aching beauty. I felt every stolen moment, every desperate heat, every breathless kiss. And when they broke their bond? Utter heartbreak. But it was written with so much care, it wasn’t about destroying them, it was about healing. About Skye finding a future on his terms, and Maverick loving him enough to let him choose it.
This wasn’t just about romance, it was about timing, freedom, and the kind of love that sees all of you and still stays. I truly hope this is just the beginning of a series, because I need to know what happened in that forest!

Sweet and steamy omegaverse
Beautiful, addictive omegaverse.
I loved Skye and Maverick.
They have intense chemistry but also really connected emotionally.
There's some miscommunication I really wished was avoided because it's not my favorite but they worked things out for their HEA.
Another Cora Rose banger masterpiece
Listen, I don't even like a/b/o, but Cora Rose is an author I trust. I have yet to read a story of hers that I don't adore.
Normally, a/b/o, even in queer stories, comes off as very heteronormative. I felt NONE of that with Pit Stop. Skye is unapologetically himself no matter his status, and while omegas are treated with the same toxic views as modern women are, they're not second-class citizens. If anything, the shifters are, and even THAT is questionable since they don't seem to see themselves that way.
I love the complexities of the hierarchies in this, and how realistic it feels - even with a little magic mixed in.
And of course, Maverick is perfect for Skye. A little broken, a little rough, and very protective. Will I ever not cringe when I read the word "mate"? Probably not, but in this case, the story is so good that even that doesn't affect my rating.
Cora Rose has officially sealed her work in the very small category of "authors I trust implicitly to deliver every time."
Highly recommend, whether you like a/b/o or not. It's Cora Rose. Nuff said.
Mmmm.

Steamy, fast-paced, and entertaining
4⭐️
The chemistry between Sky and Maverick in Pit Stop was absolutely off the charts. I devoured this book in one sitting. These two pulled me in immediately with their chaotic heat and undeniable pull. Yes, there were a lot of deliciously spicy scenes, but there was a plot tucked in there too, and it worked well for what this book was trying to do. Skye is a relatable mess in the best way, and Maverick brings the cocky, possessive alpha energy to match him perfectly. I loved their dynamic and the tension of the brother’s best friend trope layered over the Omegaverse heat. That said, this definitely falls into the miscommunication trope territory, something that kept me from rating it higher. So much of their drama could have been resolved if these two goofballs had actually used their words. But honestly? I still had a blast with this story and would happily read more about these characters if given the chance.
