Description

Haunted by a professional failure that cost a woman her life, former security specialist Jamie Larson trades the high-stakes chaos of Chicago for the quiet anonymity of Courtland, Vermont. As the town’s new sheriff, Jamie hopes for peace, but she instead finds herself entangled in a mystery that defies the laws of time itself. The disturbance arrives in the form of Andrea Clarke, a woman who appears disoriented, terrified, and claiming to be from 1949. Andrea’s last memories are of a life-upending police raid on an underground lesbian bar and a desperate escape to the Vermont wilderness. Now, she is trapped in a modern-day nightmare, forced to navigate a world that shouldn’t exist. While Jamie initially dismisses Andrea’s story as a delusion, their investigations into separate, dark secrets soon overlap. As they race to uncover the truth, they find themselves fighting for more than just survival. Jamie struggles to lower the emotional walls she’s built around her shattered heart, while Andrea faces an impossible choice: return to a past where she had no future, or risk everything for a love that has transcended time. It is a pulse-pounding tale of suspense, healing, and finding a soulmate in the unlikeliest of places.

Whats not to like about time travel

I liked the premise of the book. Time travel can take any avenue the authors imagination comes up with. I also liked how the author expressed Andrea's confusion and fear as she begins to experience 2023. The coincidence of Andreas's appearance amidst Jaimie's search for a serial killer is explained as the story progresses. I only gave a 3-star review because of, well, sex. I enjoy a steamy sex scene as much as anyone, and they were all good. It just seemed like too much emphasis was on sex and not enough on the actual story line.
