Description

Aspen Fahey is a burnout-prone witchfluencer whose life in Toronto is crumbling at the seams. When a sudden inheritance drops a magical legacy in their lap, Aspen flees the city for a quiet, folklore-steeped town on Vancouver Island. They expect a simple transition, but Parksville has other plans. Inheriting an aunt’s mystical practice means stepping into a role that requires more than just incantations—it demands a deep, vulnerable connection to the surrounding community. As Aspen finds their rhythm in this cozy, enchanting setting, they aren’t just juggling spells; they’re navigating the complicated, magnetic pull of three different people. There is a charming local sparking new promise, a steady athlete grounding them in a way they’ve never known, and a ghost from their past returning to complicate the present. For a survivor of emotional abuse, opening up to not one but three potential partners feels like the most daring magic of all. Part small-town fantasy and part heart-swelling romance, this story explores what happens when we stop merely surviving and start leaning into the people who choose us back. It’s a tender, queer journey about breaking down walls, reclaiming power, and discovering that your found family is just the beginning.

Small town why choose cozy fantasy romance

This is Book 1 of the Community Magic series. And a wonderful start it is! Look forward to more from this world. From the author; 'This is a queer cozy modern fantasy romance featuring a slow-burn triad/why-choose love story, small-town community magic, found family, and healing after emotional abuse. It is character-driven, emotional, and relationship-focused.' The characters were very appealing and likeable and complicated and absolutely perfect together. Plot was intriguing and well paced. World building was solidly drawn and impressive. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend. Grab a copy, kick back and enjoy!. I received a free copy of this book via Varus Publishing Core Readers and am voluntarily leaving a review.
