Description

Alicia Benton has spent her life perfecting a prickly exterior, using sharp edges to guard a heart that feels too much. She prefers the predictable rhythm of her solitary routine over the chaotic mess of human connection. That is, until she looks up to find the last person she ever expected to see standing in her orbit: Clare, the secret crush she thought she had long since buried. Clare is the living embodiment of sunshine, a vibrant contrast to Alicia’s carefully curated shadows. Where Alicia is guarded and cynical, Clare is open-hearted and effortlessly warm. Their worlds could not be more different, yet when fate forces them into the same space, the friction between them sparks something neither can ignore. What begins as a startling encounter quickly transforms into an exploration of vulnerability and the courage it takes to let someone in. This sweet, lighthearted romance captures the magic of unexpected second chances and the beauty of finding common ground with a polar opposite. It is a tender, feel-good story that celebrates the quiet joy of being truly seen. If you are looking for a heartfelt read that proves love has a way of showing up when you least expect it, this charming tale is for you.

Such a sweet story!

The MCs could not be more different. Alicia had a rather prickly personality that covered up a tender heart while Clare exuded a sunshiny spirit from morning through night. Running into each other at the beach house was an unexpected surprise for Alicia who harbored a secret crush on Clare. Very sweet, short, lighthearted story with a dog and sea turtles. What's not to like? If you want to smile, this is just the perfect read!

Cuuuteeeee!!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️- CUUUTTEEE! 🥰 🐢 . . Sooooo I saw that the author @rachelslacey posted this book is currently free on Amazon and I saw sea turtles in her post so I was SOLD! (If you know me in real life, you know my love for turtles and sea turtles) Besides seeing that it was a sapphic love story and SOMEHOW involved sea turtles, I went in blindly. 😬 . . This is not my first read by this author and have enjoyed other reads! This cute little short story was so stinking cute. 🥰 Of course as a reader it’s predictable from the beginning, but that doesn’t take away from the story! I found myself smiling a lot and relating to Alicia! I adore Clare and Alicia and this was just what my queer heart needed today. 🥰✨ The way the sea turtles tied into the story was great! It felt so visual while reading! . . If you enjoy short reads (a little over 60 pages on my kindle), sapphic love stories, and a some spice; check out “Out of The Blue” 🌊🐢🏳️‍🌈 . . A nice short story.

This was a sweet story. The overwhelming emotions the main character, Alicia Benton felt and then to unexpectedly seeing her secret crush staying in the beach house was exciting to read what would happen next. I liked the other character, Clare Lavoie cheerfulness which eventually brought Alicia out of her sadness in the short amount of time they were together. I liked the epilogue and Alicia's insecurities of having a relationship with Clare. I wished the author had gone further in the future than only three months. Though it didn't change my opinion of this story or the number of stars given. I truly recommend this book to everyone that loves a good romance.
