Description

After three centuries of existence, Iro Black is finally ready to break free from the suffocating tether of her past. She has long ago renounced the violent, blood-soaked lifestyle of her maker, Cassia, and is desperate to leave their wearying, immortal union behind. Trading the shadow of Paris for a fresh start in Washington, D.C., Iro hopes for a quiet life, but fate has a much more vibrant plan in store. During an unassuming night at a local bar, Iro meets Arwen Lam. For Arwen, a night out is just a distraction, but when a mysterious, captivating stranger buys her a drink, the chemistry is instantaneous and undeniable. As Iro and Arwen begin to carve out a tentative, beautiful future together, they find themselves caught in a dangerous wake. Cassia is not a woman who embraces rejection, and she views Iro’s newfound happiness as an unforgivable betrayal. Bound by a possessive, centuries-old grudge, she emerges from the shadows, intent on crushing Iro’s budding romance and reclaiming what she believes is hers. Origins of Eternity is a pulse-pounding tale of liberation and soul-deep love, forcing Iro to decide if she is truly willing to fight for the life she deserves.

A fun and intriguing fantasy!

This book was very well done, especially since it was Nicole's first venture into this type of fantasy genre. I really enjoyed the romance of it as well as the secret plotting and toxic ex energy. I was a little thrown from the 4 different POVs at first, but once I got used to it, it made sense and worked with the story well. I loved Arwen and Iro's romance! It was so pure and beautiful! It just made me giddy to read. The spice was for sure there too, and it worked with the plot very well. I also really loved how Iro was old-fashioned and that it didn't seem weird and creepy like it can sometimes come off as. Nicole's take on vampiric lore was fun to learn and read about too. There were some standard things in there that are pretty common, but some of it was different in a way I quite enjoyed. Spoiler, but I liked that they didn't need human blood to survive, but just any kind of blood. That was a really cool take. I absolutely despised Cassia, and I know I was supposed to, but Nicole made me hate her more than I thought possible. Another spoiler here, but her killing Mary so that she could be with Iro was so messed up that I swear I almost threw my Kindle at a wall when I read it. And I know that Zara did some bad things to Arwen, but I grew to understand and eventually like her as a character despite all that. She just felt much more complex to me than I initially thought she would be. While the romance was for sure the main part of the book, Cassia's toxic plot lines…

Decent

I wasn't expecting the book to be from four peoples point of views. The blurp doesnt warn you on that. Overall the book was decent. It isn't one of my favorites by this author by any means. I wish it was more about Iro and Arwen than also having those other point of views. That could have helped with the build up and I think that would have made it better for me at least.

A True Gem Of A Read

Family, this is truly a worthy read. It has everything you need for a good story: conflict, drama, pro & antagonists, and a HEA doesn't hurt either. As always - Happy Reading

Vampires? Count me in!

Honestly, I thought this book was really cool. I absolutely love paranormal and vampire stories, so I was really excited to see that Pyland was publishing one. I was especially curious to see how the amazing style Pyland delivers in each of her books would work in a paranormal setting, since her characters always feel so real - even though vampires obviously are not. The relationships between Iro, Arwen, Zara, and Cassia are incredibly messy in a way that makes the drama so good. I think that the four-character POV really helped make the story flow because it allows you to better understand where each character is coming from. I always think it’s special when an author can make you feel a bit of empathy for the villain while still hating them at the same time. As with all of Pyland’s stories, I found myself not wanting to put the book down until I reached the end. If you like vampire stories, Origins of Eternity, is a great book to sink your teeth into.

Good book

After three hundred years Iro just wanted to live her life as a vampire in peace. Cassia was very vindictive she wanted things her way and only her way. Arwen just wants peace and happiness in the world. Sara her best friend is in love with her but can't tell her. We follow these four characters and see that POV through out this book its a good read with twist and turns you didn't think that where coming. Add in a few more vampires and things things get a little bit crazy. A great read and Nicole did a great job writing her first vampire book
