Description

Thirty-year-old Jessica Reaves is at a breaking point. Between a soul-crushing waitressing job, a dead-end relationship with a man-child, and a crumbling social circle, she feels like she’s just marking time. That is, until a chance encounter with Remi Pearce—a charismatic, driven contractor in desperate need of an apprentice—changes everything. With a bold offer and the promise of a future she never dared to imagine, Remi pulls Jess out of her rut and onto the construction site. As Jess trades her apron for a tool belt and dives into the physically taxing world of trade work, the initial mentorship begins to shift. Between dusty blueprints and high-stakes job sites, the professional tension between boss and apprentice quickly ignites into something far more volatile. But when a serious accident threatens Remi’s career and livelihood, the growing intimacy between them is put to the ultimate test. Set against the grind of the worksite, this steamy workplace romance explores the messy, beautiful reality of starting over. Can Jess and Remi navigate the fine line between desire and duty, or will the weight of their new bond lead to a structural collapse? Pick up this sparky, emotional journey of self-discovery and find out.

On the Right Path

Book 2 of the Tradie Lady Series was so good! I think it's because I could relate to the whole "blowing up your life" thing. Changing careers, ending a relationship, moving to a new home - it's a lot! I admire people who go through it all and come out the other end stronger... better! Jess took the plunge and was so positive throughout the whole ordeal. But she was ready for something different - more out of life. Remi was ambitious, yet a very supportive boss/ mentor, who saw the potential in Jess. Working closely together - teaching/ learning new things. Their situation was bound to create some sparks... and it was worth it! This was highly entertaining 🤗

Great book

As a former carpenter who did a bit of everything working for a general contractor, I love this book. I can't say if it is better than the first one but it definitely is worth reading. Don't know that I would go with Makita nowadays though. Used to use their 9.6V cordless drills for roofing. Now I use the 20V Porter Cable with the metal chuck. Yeah, I know that brand is going away.

More of this please. So much more of this.

BABESSSSS - I need to open this review with the most important piece of information first: there is NO Third Act Breakup in this book. None. Zero. Not a single contrived misunderstanding dragging these two women apart right when things get good. I know. I KNOW. Take a moment. Breathe it in. Rian Birch looked at the sapphic romance genre's most exhausting tradition and said absolutely not, and I could not be more grateful. Right. Now that we've celebrated that, let's talk about the book itself — because On The Right Path absolutely earns its place as a series fav and then some. Jess Reaves is thirty, underpaid, overworked, and surrounded by people who are taking far more than they are giving. Her waitressing job is draining her dry, her boyfriend is approximately the emotional equivalent of a damp paper bag, and her best friend feels a million miles away. She is running on empty and she knows it. And then Remi Pearce walks into her section — tattooed, competent, quietly magnetic — and offers her something nobody has offered Jess in a very long time: a genuine chance at something new. What unfolds is a workplace romance that is sweet and sexy in equal measure, anchored by two leads who feel fully, beautifully realized. What I loved most about Rian Birch's writing here is the space she gives both Jess and Remi to grow. This isn't a romance where the characters are simply pulled together by chemistry alone — though the chemistry is absolutely electric, make no mistake. These…

finally being seen..

Cute premise for a story. And as in life sometimes those spare of the moment decisions end up being life changing. Jess was unhappy at work and in her relationship with Adam. Remi right place and time jokingly offered Jess an apprenticeship which she grabbed with both hands. The best part was Jess being seen and her ideas embraced.
