Description

Navigating the cutthroat world of corporate consulting is difficult enough, but for Harper and Elena, the real challenge exists behind closed office doors. When they are pitted against each other for a coveted promotion, their professional rivalry is fueled by a palpable, simmering tension that exists entirely off the books. Told through a shifting dual perspective, the narrative masterfully captures the delicate dance of workplace attraction where every glance, accidental brush of hands, and sharp-witted quip could either secure their success or destroy their carefully guarded reputations. While their resumes list their credentials and accolades, the true story lies in the unspoken terms of their evolving relationship—an intoxicating blend of ambition, vulnerability, and undeniable chemistry. As the lines between competition and connection begin to blur, both women must decide what they are truly willing to risk. Chloe Peterson pushes them to confront the fragile boundaries of professional decorum, proving that sometimes the most important lessons in life are the ones that never appear on a formal CV. This is a poignant exploration of queer romance set against the high-stakes backdrop of modern career advancement, where falling in love might just be the most courageous professional move they ever make.

Not on the Resume❤️

Oh, I enjoyed this one! It's my first Chloe Peterson book, and I'm happy it's only book 1 in a series! Can't want to read the next. Cameron is THE ice queen - expectations are high, incompetence is not tolerated, and she has no problem putting anyone in their place as needed. When her best friend recommends she hire Elliot as her personal assistant, she has no confidence that Elliot will be suited for the job. And that's where the story begins to melt your heart...and Cameron's. The story hooks you and keeps you turning the pages! I'm looking forward to the next in the series!

Great Beginning to Series

Cameron owns a business empire, is an ice-queen, and can’t keep an assistant. Hayden, her best friend, sends her her a woman to interview and makes her hire her. Elliot is determined to make this opportunity work. As they get deeper into work, the emotions start flowing. Elliot has totally fallen for her boss. A wonderful rom-com.

Fast paced age gap falling for your boss romance

A cute, fast paced falling-for-the-boss workplace romance. Cameron, a 47 year old CEO ice queen hires her new assistant, per a friend's suggestion. Elliot, a shy 26 year old is hired on, expecting her new boss Cameron to be the worst boss, according to rumors. Some parts of this story were a bit cringe (as others have mentioned), such as the company's tech department. But if you don't understand how any of that works, then you're fine. The author definitely could have done more research on their part. I found both Cameron and Elliot to be lovable characters who both had a lot of growth throughout the book. Side characters Reese and Hayden were great additions. There were a few random side characters that I personally felt didn't really need to be added. This book was also pretty fast paced, as I feel like a lot of lgbtq romances are. It definitely could have been a longer book and still enjoyable. The smut is also decent, and this book reminded me a bit of The Devil Wears Prada. Overall, I mostly enjoyed this quick read. At times the author seemed to get off track for a while, before suddenly getting back on track and speeding things along. I think the author was trying to build up the plot, which she did, but some of the writing was unnecessary, imho.

Heartwarming

This is my favorite genre. Cameron is as icy as they come. She is the owner of a large corporation. And she goes through assistants like they are a dime a dozen. Her best friend Hayden forces her to try one more. Elliott has never done a job like this. But she is smart and hardworking. Enjoy the story that ensues.
