Description

John Cunningham has spent years building a stable, fulfilling life as a minimalist winemaker, but his greatest prize is the man standing beside him. After a decade of yearning, he finally has Adam Barnes—longtime crush turned partner—in his arms. On the surface, life among the vines should be blissful, yet a shadow from the past threatens to sour their vintage. John is haunted by the heavy silence he left with Adam’s late father, a regret that lingers long after his passing. For Adam, the romance is everything he ever wanted, but inner turmoil keeps him at arm’s length. Beneath his easygoing exterior lies a crushing burden of guilt; he blames himself for his father’s death, a secret sorrow that acts as a wedge between him and the man he loves. As the ghosts of the past begin to bleed into the present, the two men must navigate a treacherous path of grief and buried resentment. To secure their future, they must confront the trauma that defined them before it destroys the fragile foundation of their relationship. It is an emotional, high-stakes journey toward healing, trust, and the true meaning of finding a Daddy to call home.

Grief

I have been waiting months for the rest of Adam and John’s story. It was well worth the wait. These two men have been effected by the same events but in different ways. It was causing them problems in the here and now. But they work their way forward to a new beginning.

Very emotional!

I’ve enjoyed all the other books in this series but this one was stands out by how it had me crying! The emotions, guilt, and trauma the characters were dealing with were done really well. It just felt very real. I also had some smiles from being able to relate to Adam's joy as someone who has had top surgery.
