This Sapphic Rom-com takes place in the big city life where one chef's life is drastically about to change. The Kindle version of this story was exactly what you would expect from Kindle. The end of Mixing Up Mayhem has Jackie's Recipes to make her tasty Chocolate cake recipe with Jackie's added flair mixed into the cake mix. In the big city, we meet Jackie and Cass. Jackie is an "older" pastry chef who landed her dream job at a prestigious culinary restaurant. Jackie is in a long-term relationship with her Girlfriend Cass seemingly finally living her dream life and preparing for a proposal. It is not until Cass breaks her heart that Jackie can go on the path of self-discovery. In walks Vexx. Hells princess. A royal heir to her father's throne. Vexx finds herself in the vast human Realm where she meets Jackie. There is a theme between these two as their threads of fate seem to be intertwined. Both of our strong-willed FMCs will leave you pining for the next move as life moves forward in a very unconventional way. I loved this story. Heather's writing style flows. Jackie Miller just started her dream job and thinks things are looking up for her. But she quickly finds herself single and accidentally summoning a demon, who is extremely hot. This was a very enjoyable paranormal romance with just the right amount of angst and steam. Jackie and Vexxanthe’s relationship was supposed to be just a fling while they waited for the right time for a portal back to hell to be created. Instead they both fall hard for each other. This was a very enjoyable relationship with just the right amount of angst and steam to keep me hooked. There is a little bit of a third act break up when it gets closer to Vexx’s time to leave but it wasn’t a long one and it worked with the storyline. Overall, this was a cute and steamy lesiban romance and I highly recommend it. I enjoyed both of these characters and Jackie’s coworker Everett a lot. 🍰The way I am crushing on these two amazing FMC’s, Jackie and Vexx! I read Mixing Up Mayhem a few weeks back and literally loved every moment of it! Their story was incredibly fun and filled with swoon, spice, and everything sinfully nice! 🍰Not only did I love the plot, the pacing, and the relationship that develops between Jackie and her unexpected house guest, Vexx, but I especially loved the message that we can start a new at any time in our journey! Once in a blue moon, you find a book on Kindle Unlimited that is truly wonderful and deserves more exposure! This is one of those hidden treasures. Above all, it's a sweet story, but with plenty of spice that was somehow sexy/kinky yet also sweet! Though the fantasy element was not a main focus, the worldbuilding was very interesting. I really really liked that it departed from the tired trope of "They're falling for each other - oops there was a miscommunication/fight - will they every work it out - OMG they did!!" The author simply managed to tell a great story without falling into the ruts of standard plot lines, without having to resort to manufactured drama, without being boring! Just super, super refreshing. Side note: baking is not at all one of my interests, but I found myself wishing I knew more about it so I could be extra impressed by the yummy descriptions and details throughout the book. For something I generally care so little about, I still genuinely enjoyed the culinary tidbits. Be advised, this book will make you hungry!

She doesn’t know how the human summoned her here or how she’ll get back home. Mixing up Mayhem follows both women as the learn more about themselves, each other and what they truly want. It’s a great read for anyone who loves a sapphic romance with a supernatural twist that ends on a HEA.
