This Sapphic Rom-com takes place in the big city life where one chef's life is drastically about to change. The Kindle version of this story was exactly what you would expect from Kindle. The end of Mixing Up Mayhem has Jackie's Recipes to make her tasty Chocolate cake recipe with Jackie's added flair mixed into the cake mix. In the big city, we meet Jackie and Cass. Jackie is an "older" pastry chef who landed her dream job at a prestigious culinary restaurant. Jackie is in a long-term relationship with her Girlfriend Cass seemingly finally living her dream life and preparing for a proposal. It is not until Cass breaks her heart that Jackie can go on the path of self-discovery. In walks Vexx. Hells princess. A royal heir to her father's throne. Vexx finds herself in the vast human Realm where she meets Jackie. There is a theme between these two as their threads of fate seem to be intertwined. Both of our strong-willed FMCs will leave you pining for the next move as life moves forward in a very unconventional way. I loved this story. Heather's writing style flows. Jackie Miller just started her dream job and thinks things are looking up for her. But she quickly finds herself single and accidentally summoning a demon, who is extremely hot. This was a very enjoyable paranormal romance with just the right amount of angst and steam. Jackie and Vexxanthe’s relationship was supposed to be just a fling while they waited for the right time for a portal back to hell to be created. Instead they both fall hard for each other. This was a very enjoyable relationship with just the right amount of angst and steam to keep me hooked. There is a little bit of a third act break up when it gets closer to Vexx’s time to leave but it wasn’t a long one and it worked with the storyline. Overall, this was a cute and steamy lesiban romance and I highly recommend it. I enjoyed both of these characters and Jackie’s coworker Everett a lot.
