Description

Juyeon Song is a perfectionist defined by his icy exterior and his singular obsession with gold. As South Korea’s champion figure skater, he arrives in America with one mission: to perfect his craft and secure his spot in the upcoming Winter Olympics. He has no room in his schedule for distractions, and certainly no time for people who don't take the sport seriously. That is until he crosses paths with Carson Young. Carson is the charismatic, easygoing captain of the local hockey team and a league MVP who radiates the kind of warmth Juyeon has spent a lifetime avoiding. When Carson sets his sights on the mysterious "ice prince," he isn't deterred by Juyeon’s cold demeanor or the high walls he’s carefully constructed around his heart. For Carson, Juyeon isn't just a challenge—he’s a magnetic pull he can’t resist. As the two worlds of elegant figure skating and bruising hockey collide, the line between competition and connection begins to blur. Can the hockey captain’s persistence finally bring a spring thaw to Juyeon’s frozen life, or will the pressure of the upcoming championships shatter the fragile bond they are only just beginning to form?

Amazing

This a really good slowburn and I love how Carson is such a gentleman to Julian and the way he makes sure Julian is comfortable is so hot.

Super sweet

Figure skating x hockey. My kryptonite! I liked both of the characters, but I do wish Carson had POVs, I felt the loss. The romance was super sweet, and it’s not extremely spicy but still had a zing to it. The dialogue is written a little weird, like grammar wise, and it took me out of it multiple times.

Carson ❤️ Julian

Melt His Heart is the debut novel by Chérie Angel, and I absolutely loved it. It was such a cute and heartwarming read. The story has a sweet slow burn that makes the romance feel very natural and endearing. I loved both MMCs, Carson and Julian. They were so adorable together. Carson was especially my favorite. He was patient, understanding, and willing to do the chasing because he knew Julian needed reassurance. That dynamic between them was incredibly sweet. I’m always a fan of the grumpy and sunshine trope, and this book delivered it perfectly. Their chemistry and emotional connection made the story even more enjoyable. I especially loved Julian’s character development. He really grew throughout the story, owning up to what he wanted and learning to fight for himself. Watching him come to terms with the fact that he is more than just a figure skater was beautifully written and added a lot of depth to the story. I also really appreciated the representation of Korean American culture, which was handled thoughtfully and added another meaningful layer to the book. Overall, this was a wonderful debut, and I truly can’t wait to read more from this author.

Adorable!

I really enjoyed the premise and how cute they were together. I liked seeing Julian grow and experience life, after keeping himself sheltered for so long. Carson is a green flag, providing patience and words of praise and encouragement. I loved how Carson turned up for Julian when he was needed. I wasn't so fond of the parents, putting such negative pressure on their child- that at his age, he was stunted and shy about who he was and what he wanted. I hope there is a sequel where we can see their life together!
