Description

What started as a favor to an injured cousin spirals into an identity-shifting journey that changes everything. Forced to step into the spotlight of a high-society charity ball in her stead, one night of masquerade becomes an unexpected portal to self-discovery. Swapping trousers for tulle and shadows for chandeliers, the protagonist finds themselves transformed—not just by the wig and gown, but by the way the world finally seems to reflect who they were meant to be. The stakes hit a fever pitch when Alex Montgomery, the enigmatic son of a senator, locks eyes with this new version of themselves. Beneath the glitter of the ballroom, a spark ignites that feels more authentic than any role they have ever played. But as the lines between performance and reality dissolve, the thrill of the masquerade meets the terror of being exposed. As they navigate a life caught between two worlds, the demand for tradition clashes with a burgeoning, undeniable truth. With every heartbeat and every turn on the dance floor, the question becomes less about keeping up appearances and more about daring to claim a new life. This is a captivating exploration of love, identity, and the breathtaking courage it takes to become the person you were always hiding inside.

Finding out who you really are

Will was doing something for the family and helping out his sister Charlotte since she couldn't walk or go to any of the galas that were planned for the summer. Will started to enjoy being who he was all made up until Veronica messed it up cause she was a spoiled rich woman that didn't like the changes that were happening. In the long run will starts to see he really is after Charlotte calls her Willa and things change for the good and Willa is starting to enjoy who she really is in life. This is for anyone who feels that they are in the wrong body and is willing to change for the better of themselves to be who they really are in life.

Willa - nothing like a soft Southern Name.

What en enjoyable story. I enjoyed it very much. The emotion of the story was lively and peeked my interest enough to keep the story moving. You caught me off guard with Veronica though. It’s amazing how people with perceived power view themselves. Still awesome the way his family gathered around him to help recognize his true self.
