Mad Love: MM Mafia Daddy Romance (Dangerous Daddies Book 1)

I read the hitman daddy and stalker boy story that’s connected to this book first and I was delighted to see Ben and Toby’s story. This was actually such a sweet story and there were multiple lines towards the end that had my heart melting. The growth between the characters were incredible especially Ben’s. It was heartwarming to see how supportive he is of Toby and how he wanted him to get better. Enjoyable read!

Toby was such an adorable boy and I always have a soft spot for touch-starved MCs... And while it didn't always seem like it, Benji was totally smitten. He initially showed it by being a bit kidnap-y and possessive perhaps, but still. It ended up being a sweeter story than I expected, and I loved the hurt / comfort in it! "His laugh shook us both. “Are my possessive tendencies wearing off on you, sweet pea?” “Possessive tendencies?” I rolled my eyes, earning myself a swat on the ass. “Benji, you do not have tendencies. You’re possessive, end of story.”"

One of my friends recommended this to me, and what a joyous read it was!!! From page one, Toby got my heart, making me love him with his quirky side, his adorable moment and even the ones that he didn’t back down in the face of fears. He was also very related to be. As a person with an autoimmune condition, the pain and fears Toby lived, resonated hard within me, so it was easy to identify with him a lot. Enter Ben and everything gets better! Possessive, protective and deliciously sadistic, Ben is EVERYTHING Toby needs and more; and, as fast paced as this book was, it was such a joy to see them fall in love with each other in such an epic way. My only complain would be that I wanted more of them :( but I believe, context wise, their story was perfect the way it was told, even if it was too fast for a fast reader like me. Heck I even found myself slowing my read to make it last (hahaha) I hope we can see glimpse of them in the upcoming books which I am 10/10 reading (specially when u now who the next couple is!!! The empathy,passion and overall tenor of the book is good. It's what kept me reading in spite of the deficiencies. There are moments in the book that I'm not sure the author stayed in the scene or was descriptive enough to accurately portray the intended scenario but there you have it. For example, I really wanted to understand the butterflies because that was a truly poignant and pivotal part of the story. The typos though, here are some of my favorites; "overgrown bread" , "hallowing in pain" " pocking my phone"; "his hand roamed my body licking every patch of skin" Excuse me but hands can't lick! Also, not to be an absolute downer, there were phrases I loved; coating me in a hevy dose of tobacco & psycho - I fixed the typo in that one and this one "My baby, if you need something I'll provide it, your smile, your laughs, your freckles & those God forsaken tears all belong to me." Had the author reviewed & proofed this would have been a kickass read especially since she covered a difficult relationship.

So I have to start out by saying that I'd never read anything by this author before. This book was recommended in a Facebook group and so highly that I jumped right over to Amazon and picked it up in KU. I'll be buying a copy after I'm done here! The title of this book really does say what the theme is - Mad Love! Obsessive, compulsive and overwhelming! The kind of love that changes a person's very core. Ben and Toby are like night and day, and that's part of the beauty of their love. It shouldn't make sense but it absolutely works. I loved how Toby was tough enough to stand up for himself, while also being incredibly vulnerable and innocent. That he completely consumes Ben, heart and soul, is something truly spectacular. I'm glad that Toby never made Ben compromise on the kind of man he was. He accepted the darkness as being a necessary part of the man he loved and never shied away from it. This is the type of love story that belongs among the best of the best. I am utterly and thoroughly in love with this book and I can not wait for more. Absolute perfection!
