Simply the best…

way to end such a love and hate filled journey. I have to admit that when we started the second part of this story I was annoyed by Silvia. Perhaps, it was because I didn’t know her as well as I knew Keir. For as many flaws as she had she was true blue. I had a hard time accepting Silvia as clan head by simply “deposing” their previous ruler. I understand that what happened to her from the Order and then at the hands of Raphael is how she got there. Silvia on the run. Keir trying to keep the clan together just felt wrong and off. It felt like Keir was the rightful head of the clan technically speaking. Except for the fact that Keir couldn’t do the tough stuff unless it was about Silvia. Even then, it was for her to take down her father. Although we saw Silvia protect her from him a few times. Silvia had a bit of ruthlessness that Keir didn’t have. But Keir had her royal “posture” and was made to rule naturally. This is why the switch in the power dynamic didn’t really work. It didn’t feel authentic. Keir had to continually run after Silvia. Keir put it all out there. Keir was in deeper than Sylvia. It took too long for Silvia to get there with Keir after she came back. It was Keir growing in maturity, responsibility, and love. Her point of view was chock full of emotions while Silvia spent too much time brooding and keeping herself from Keir. I am glad they had a happy ending. Their sex life was explosive. Gawd, was it ever. I just tired of Silvia engaging in it, but…

Great Story

I couldn't put this book down. I finished this book faster than I thought. I found this book filled with emotions from the main characters, Silvia once a hunter to being the head clan leader of Carpe Noctem and Keir the intended royal heir to the clan. The beginning of the storyline was filled with saddness of Silvia running for two years and Keir trying to help her people while waiting for Silvia to return. I really enjoyed the storyline of the Orders main goal and Silvia tearing it down. I especially loved the ending with vampire wedding of Silvia and Keir. I also found it humorous what Keir did when Silvia first told Keir she loved her. I whole heartily recommend this book to everyone that loves a good romance between a human and a vampire.

Good, but not great 😕

I loved the first book. It had a few editing errors and plot holes. But this one was lacked luster for me. Skipping 6 months was disappointing. I don't mind time jumps but it would have been nice to see some of the planning happened. Not to mention how short this book is compared to the first. Then not showing the first "I Love you" in the chapter when we got to see the events that led up to it was a disappointment. I loved the wedding part tho. Overall it felt rushed I could definitely see this series stretching on for longer than two books if it was done correctly. Good nonetheless.

Riveting!

Even though only two books are in this series so far, it has been one of the best I have read when it comes to wlw spicy fantasy romances. This is supposed to be the last book for this series, but I truly hope she makes another book to it:).
