Description

At Greenrock University, the rink is more than just a place to skate—it is a battlefield where ambition, rivalry, and hidden desires collide. For star athlete Sloane, hockey has always been the single focus of her collegiate life. She lives for the momentum of the game and the discipline of the ice, until a chaotic encounter forces her into the orbit of someone who challenges every wall she has built around her heart. The chemistry is instant and volatile, turning what was supposed to be a straightforward season into a complex dance of power plays and stolen moments. As they navigate the high-stakes pressure of university sports and the daunting expectations of their futures, both women must confront the realities of their own identities. In a world that often demands they choose between their dreams and their truth, they find themselves fighting for something much more significant than a championship trophy. Elle Sprinkle delivers a stirring, atmospheric romance that crackles with tension and emotional depth. Through characters who are as vulnerable as they are fierce, this story explores the intricacies of sapphic love, the weight of academic pressure, and the courage required to finally stand your ground when the clock is running out.

Women’s hockey!!!!

🏒 Like A Power Play 5⭐️ Beautiful, strong, grumpy women + hockey = IM IN LOVEEEEEEE 😂😂 after stumbling upon the game day fit check videos from the PWHL I knew I needed to lock in for sapphic hockey romance 🫡 this book was delightful straight up. It was a beautiful mix of grief surrounding your body and its abilities changing, the grief of losing your passion and having to pivot in your dreams. Our two main characters, Peyton and Darcy were kind of having parallel struggles on their own whilst also beefing with each other. I love a good hate to annoyed to omg I like you romance and this definitely delivered. Peyton was so funny and she loved to poke the bear. The bear being Darcy 😂 and I loved Darcy, I love a grumpy and jaded FMC. Her story broke my heart but I’m so glad she gets her happy ending ❤️ the entire hockey team was honestly amazing and definitely seems like there may be tons of stories to tell with them 👁️👁️ if you’re riding the Heated Rivalry train hard lately and in need of more delicious rainbow romance, look no further! 🤩 definitely recommend 💘

Love this!

This is so good. The disability representation is on point. It was such a good story about having to deal with a chronic illness and chronic pain. I loved Darcy's and Peyton's banter. I loved how everything unfolded and evolved. The writing was so good. There were so many lines I highlighted because they were so beautiful. Excellent!

I just want to read it over and over again.

Loved the characters, the growth, the story line itself. Most sports stories are just that about rivals and the game. But this takes it a little deeper. I just want to erase it from my mind so I can read it again for the first time.

Let me say I truly enjoyed this read! Thank you to Elle Sprinkle for sharing this story full of representation, sports, representation in mental/physical health, community and friendships. First off let me introduce you to our fmc Darcy and Peyton. Our fmc Darcy story hits close and was inspiring and aspects of her character highlighted her daily life with RA and still living as her own, even with her absence of living out her passion. Within us learning more about Darcy and gaining insight on her backstory and what made her personality, the aspects/ and her lifestyle what it is was such a change/ turn of events that made her story unique, and highly relatable to real people and their life experiences in their everyday life. Now to our next fmc Peyton! Peyton character was not only pushing through anxiety and imposter syndrome but she was also supportive, a very charismatic person that still showed up for others, allowed her vulnerable side which helped the people around her and was wholesome to see display in this read! Also she was very passionate about sports, and with what she does which helped ease the progress of both characters. Now onto Peyton and Darcy romance, it was a natural dynamic that was not forced, it centered around vulnerability, trust and communication. Both fmcs were able to make not only others but also each other happy, the romantic spark and romance between the two still allowed each character to break through personal/protective masks that caused…
